Default Heated Seat issue

Does anyone have any issues with the heated seats not working?
Mine do not... both. The ventilated functions works, but the seats will not get even warm never mind hot. The button's light up ( all 3 levels) and yet nothing happens.
Took it to the dealer but they were clueless saying that they work but not the way they should..... They have contacted Lexus as there is a TSB for Is but not the RC F.

Anyone have any issues? If so what was the outcome?

Thanks

Hey,

I got my RC F last week and notice the same. I haven't had the time to go to the dealer to have them checked out.

yeah same issue.

they are actually working, I used an infrared thermometer and you can see it increase temp over a few minutes.

I think the problem is it is that they are weak when married to the nuluxe material, as the nuluxe is much thicker than normal vinyl/leather and the molding process is different, I believe it reduces the pass thru heat of the heating elements in the seat.

but using an infrared thermometer I can see them go from 60° to 78° within about 3 minutes and 100° within 15 minutes, so I know they are working.

my Camaro seat heaters would burn your a$$ on high after about 3-4 minutes with the leather seats, the ones in my Avalanche actually blistered the backs of my legs when I used them to try and dry my pants after slipping in the snow and getting my jeans soaked.

Who the hell made those freaking seats? Just like the Daytona ones on my brother's Ferraris, they're a work of art when looking at them, but crap to use. At least the RC-F ones are more comfortable. But just like Ferrari Sabelt seats, the RC-F's are hard as hell on the cushion, without the proper anatomy to make hard seats comfortable, like most racing seats. Anyway, haven't tried mine, but if the heating elements are as crappy as the ventilation, won't even bother with them. My car has leather seats, and I bet they're the same as the vinyl ones (yes, 'nuluxe', 'leatherette', etc. are ALL vinyl). The good news is I live in the desert, so hardly ever use the heat function. But boy, do I miss the good ventilated seats of my other cars when driving in summer. Oh well.

That slogan was dropped due to cost and with the new slogan "engineering the impossible".

any chance Lexus would release a fix? Or do these things just get brushed under the rug?

If you honestly are not feeling heat, then there is a problem. Within 3 minutes, I have noticeable heat. Within 15 minutes I need to lower it, but I am also not looking for the seat to glow red between my legs.

The heated steering wheel also works well in my car.

You may want to have the main relay, seat heater, switch fuse, etc. checked in the car at Lexus.
