Default Frustrating: Cleaning the rear window

The rear windscreen should be removable or tilt up at the very least!!

I am at my wit's end and have no more hair to pull out when trying to accomplish this task. Does anyone have a foolproof solution or tool they use to thoroughly clean the rear window without having to resort to a significant level of foul language that would bring even this ex-sailor to tears?

Please help!

Ditto.
Best I can do is with a microfiber cloth wrapped around a 2"x1/8" wood lath and 50/50 distilled water and alcohol and then polish with some newspaper on the same stick. Still not 100%.

^^ Good call.

I use this on the rear window of my "V". When I use it I find that misting the applicator pad lightly with the cleaner, instead of spraying the cleaner directly on the window it gives me less streaking and better results..

You beat me to it; that's exactly what I use. But if you think cleaning is frustrating, try TINTING. My expert installer had the time of his life doing it. It's the worst car he's done in his entire 30-yr career. Ha ha. With those non-removable headrests and non-reclinable rear seats, it's a royal b*tch. But I shouldn't need to clean it anymore. Now that it's clean after tinting, shouldn't need cleaning anymore. Somehow this guy did a perfect job with the tinting, but had to do it TWICE, spraying lots of water in the process. Wasn't crazy about that, and couldn't put towels underneath due to so little space. Oh well. Looks awesome from the outside (20% on the rear 3 windows, 35% in the front 2).

Oh, and for the **** type, good luck removing the 'Mark Levinson' blue plastic covering on the rear subwoofer cover. Took me forever, but it's done.

I got a chuckle out of this post, and it's so true. I had to resort to a letter opener just to get the plastic film protection off the Mark Levinson middle speaker on the back deck :-)

My back window is so smeared from when I cleaned it the other day. I'll be adding that to my next Amazon order.

Hey, so looks like a few ****-retentive types here. I'm going to 'bookmark' you guys, to know all of your mods are '**** approved'. Ha ha. By the way, removed mine with a flat plastic trim tool. Also removed all the white crap that was on the black carpet-like material, but ended up smearing the window with masking tape. And THAT was a royal b*tch to remove, so be warned. Ha ha. Ended up doing it with the above-mentioned invisible tool, a microfiber rag damp with alcohol, and LOTS of patience and elbow grease. But no more 'dust' white stuff on the rear shelf (yeeeei). After that and the tint job, conditioned all the leather and car smells and is like new again.

My dealer tinted my windows and they had to do the rear window 3 times before getting it right, so yes, it is quite the ***** but they got it done. Also had to redo the driver's window, but not sure why that one was a problem. All is well now and it looks great.
