Default Installation Guide: Beat-Sonic DVD/Navigation Controller

A few weeks ago on the RC350 forum there was a Group Buy for this kit which allows you to use your DVD/NAV while in motion, which most of you know is a non-existent feature with Toyota/Lexus vehicles.

Well today the module showed up and I'll be installing it and either doing a video and/or taking pictures with comments to show the installation. They provided pretty good written instructions with drawings so I'll test it out this weekend and let you all know the results.

Here are some notes so far:

- Great packaging, everything was wrapped well and secure
- Harness is very clean and has an amazing OEM look/finish to it
- Instructions were included (we will see how good they are this weekend)

Video and review is posted below, thanks for stopping by!

Interesting post. I was not aware of this product, and appreciate you taking the time to post a review for us.

As I have not had a Lexus vehicle for many years I am not very up to date on the technology mods such as this. On my M3 all I had to do was have a friend come over and he coded the dvd in motion option into my Idrive, so now I can watch DVD's while driving (this is not something I have done of course, but it is nice to have).

Furthermore my friend coded options such as roll up windows and fold mirror with key fob, no seatbelt warning, adjustable rpm level for clutch engagement on launch control, etc.

My question is; is there no way to have these options coded into a Lexus vehicle just as I have done with this current BMW as well as many others?

The dealer can program most of the things you mentioned with some controller module they use EXCEPT Nav/DVD in motion.

Thank you for the reply! I did not know that! There is a lot to learn on these forums!

Thanks again for sharing, and I look forward to watching your progress!

Excellent installation video. One of the best I've seen of these types as far as showing each step slowly and with very little camera jitters or wild image swings which usually makes them unwatchable for me. Thanks for the post.

Yes correct, this item will allow you to access phone functions in addition to all the other grayed out features while the vehicle is in motion.

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks,

Being in business for myself and primarily in Online Business, phone functions ONLY make this a worthwhile investment.

I'll be ordering VERY soon....

I just installed this today on my RC-F. Very straightforward instructions and reasonably easy to install. The video was useful, but the printed instructions are fine as well. Works as advertised! I'll be putting one in my Tundra as well.

Awesome instruction video! Does this let you use the back-up camera while in forward motion? Thanks!
