Default UV Glass?

Hi Everyone,
Wondering if anyone knows the RC-F has UV glass on the windows? If so, which ones?

I know that depending on the car, some only have UV glass on the front only. I drive 5000 miles a month so you can tell about my concern with UV.

You should pay attention to the word 'reducing'. Even a 1% reduction would make that statement true. And I don't think they have much more than that. Remember seeing that test done to a modern car with factory 'tinted' windows somewhere, but don't remember where (try to google it). Anyway, if you're concerned with that, just tint your windows man. Most quality tints, even the ones light enough to be barely noticeable, have 99% UV reduction. And the new ceramic kind, add heat rejection as well. All of that info is stated on the tint box, so ask your tint shop for more info. I always do my cars with 3M in 35% front and 20% rear 3 windows (a necessity in the TX heat). Haven't done the windshield yet because I don't drive much. Hope this helps.

The Lexus RC-F factory specs says "reducing", but does not say what percentage.

Most modern day tints of good quality will block out 97% plus UV. It is the "heat rejection" I am looking for especially in long drives in the hot sun or parking in open hot sun environment.

I had bought my RC-F a couple of months ago in SoCal. I went ahead and had 3M Crystalline tint put on all the way around including the windshield. I have 70% on the front windshield and 40% sides and back. The 40% is the darkest 3M Crystalline tint 3M makes for the Crystalline line. I also had ask the tint shop put on a upper front windshield strip 5% charcoal/black 3M (I don't remember the exact model of 3M tint type), (10 inches wide) across the top of the front windshield. They put in the 70% 3M Crystalline the entire front windshield first and then the top charcoal/black strip. The "curved" the top strip instead of just a "straight" line across. This adds a touch of class and elegance.

I had my LX570 done with the 3M Crystalline all the way around including the windshield and compared to my RX450h which had SolarGard ceramic 80% on the windshield and 15% SolarGard (I don't know which line within the SolarGard brand) on all side/back windows.......... There is no comparison. If you park both vehicles in hot direct sunlight for several hours without putting up the cardboard windshield blocker, then when you return, you WILL feel the difference with the heat differential.

3M Crystalline costs a lot more and is way more challenging for the installer (especially for the front and back windows). Therefore make sure you find an experienced installer.

Just my two cents.......................

While my other Lex-eye have only had about 3% native tint in the glass, the RC-F has what we're seeing to be around 6%. Hawaii has extremely tight and well enforced tint laws. Nothing below 30%, period. All cops have light meters and it's normal to get tested when pulled over if there's any question.

The day after I picked her up, 35% Llumar tint went on her for a target of 35%-3%=32% total opacity.

She tested 29% with 35% tint on her. Same exact film that's on my CT200h and is/was on the IS350 (god rest her soul with her new owner). Both cars tested out at 32.XX% The RC-F with the identical film tested 29%.
