The ASC is now largely irrelevant and the car has some feel to it that was lacking before. The OEM exhaust is just too quiet for my taste and the PTS / Joe Z brought it to life as far as I'm concerned. Is it faster? Probably not but it FEELS faster and that is a big improvement.
I agree completely. I'm also trying to figure out how to paint the cans without removing them. It really is a lot more fun to drive with the feedback from the exhaust and it just "feels" faster because you are getting that feedback.

^^ Here is a little snip from the 2008 IS F exhaust thread... Can't believe this post is almost 7 years old..

We painted just the rear facing part of the muffler..

Hello Guys / Gals...

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of helping Phillip "CrazyMPG" install his New IS-F Cat Back Exhaust...

I am sure he will be able to give you all some some more feedback on this system that many of you have been waiting for..

We took a bunch of pics and I am posting them up for him..

Update: We did create short exhaust muffler tips that start off at 2.5 inches and flare up to 2.75 inches which are split between the center of the OEM Exhaust Tip / Diffusers.

Also, this is one of the 1st Production Versions installed & the 1st system installed with a little customizing to the face and tips of the mufflers..

Phillip and I actually painted them with a High Heat Flat Black Paint.
This was something he wanted to do, to give the rear muffler faces an OEM look. Simple blue tap, sandpaper and the spray paint is how we did it.

This is a strictly a DIY modification to the exhuast mufflers.
They will come fully mirror polished as shown further below.

Also, I can not take full credit for all of this hard work...!!!

We do greatly appreciate to hear all the feedback on the system and super glad all of you that have already received it, are indeed enjoying it..

- Performance Tube Systems (PTS) and their entire Staff put lots of hard work and man hours to deliver us exhaust systems that meets & exceeds our Enthusiasts expectations..

I personally appreciate everything they have done to make this happen for us.
Including their entire Lexus PTS exhaust line, which fall in this very same category.

If this wasn't the case, I would have not been involved in this joint venture.

Regards,

~ Joe Z

I think if I just lift up the back of the car then I can easily remove the axle-back pieces and it will be easy to mask and paint the mufflers as I want. The floor jack point is shown in the owners manual.

Another attractive feature of the PTS/JoeZ is the price point, it seems like great value for money compared to some of the other cat back options now available for RC F. Nice damn work JoeZ

We'll try and get that issue resolved! We'll be sending out the exhausts hopefully towards the end of this month!

I asked as well about my order and no answer yet on 9/1. I ordered July 20 and were due in 3-4 weeks. But in mid Aug it changed to end Aug or early Sept.

BUT now..
I did see this comment on 8/31 from JoeZ.
We have everything pretty much ready for welding phase..
So my best guesstimate as of today would be approx 3-4 weeks to complete the run we're working on..

^^ Sorry guys... We're doing our best in this Supply & Demand scenario...

We are not sitting on any inventory, that I can promise you..!!

Our first batch sold out faster that we anticipated.. And a good amount of them shipped out to our Australian distributor as well..

Hoping to have all our back orders filled by end of this month..

Glad I found this. It's exactly what I want to do with the invidia exhaust when I get it! OLD thread but did you scuff up the back of the mufflers before painting? I can't imagine paint sticking very well to the shiny s/s surface... Plus I think this would be MUCH easier to touch up since it's strictly the rear of the muffler compared to the ENTIRE muffler that is going to get all chipped up from the bottom of the ground from rocks.. debris.

Thanks,
-Nigel
