$1100/mo for 48 mos = $52,800. Then the dealer gets the car back and surely the resale value will be > $20K since it will have less than 48K miles and still be under warranty. You'd be better off financing purchase and selling the car on your own after 4 years (imo).

why are these lease monthly payments not that far off from financing, seems ridiculous

I can get a 73k MSRP RC-F for the following:
-24 months - 7.5k annual miles
-$3k drive-off (tax, registration, first month, and all other fees included)
-$899 a month, tax included.
