Default Anyone else rethinking their order?

While the reviews are mixed at best, one universal (dissapointing) fact is the weight. And can't be tossed aside as a subjective observation, the RC is clearly much heavier than anyone expected. It needs that 467hp to overcome the increase in mass. It's a bit of a shocker, and has me rethinking an order. I now feel, the RC will not be the runaway success we'd all hoped for.

Though call I agree...

Exiting IS F CURB WEIGHT was listed at 3,780 lbs (paper weight)

This bad boy is listing at 3,958 lbs - They met the "targets less than 3,968 lbs"

Bottom line is that it weighs 178 lbs more... Has 51 MORE HP and 18 more ft lbs of TQ..

AND a s*** load of newer Technology in engine, trans, diff, etc.. etc.. etc..

A carbon fiber monocoque would have helped weight dramatically.. In an LFA it lowered the weight by approx 220 lbs..

But it would have catapulted the RC F price into triple digits..

LFA

It's the new "F" flagship for now...

My IS-F weighed less than that with jack, spare, and even the massive owner's manual...

I presume you have logged time in the ISF. As a point of comparison, the ISF is a quick car.
The RCF is FASTER than the ISF, will run a faster quarter mile, and brings exceptional technology to the road. I could care less about "weight"--it is nothing that I am going to notice or for that matter, the majority of the drivers.

As for a runaway success, the car will be successful. And understand that Lexus is only producing 2,500 per year at the most. It is not meant to be a high-production vehicle.

My official processed order has been in for a couple of weeks now, and I expect to take delivery earlier than the norm.

To each his own...buy what makes you happy.

Let's hope the weight of the GSF is less than the M5. The GS 350 is less than the 535.

i have to agree but I was thinking it will be a low 12s and not mid 12 car. agree on the new technology we have to see how much difference really is with isf. i really want to get the rcf. they need to release this already

I was sort of thinking about calling my dealer to order one but then I thought why would I trade my F in plus $40k on top for this car? Doesn't seem to make any sense especially now seeing the performance numbers which I know can change. If I didn't own an F then it would prob be a different story but it seems like a lateral move.

Hey, I lOVE my ISF, but the two cars are night and day.

You are looking at two numbers thus far, and conservative numbers yet better than the ISF.

The handling is going to be remarkable with the TVD--what we are missing in the current ISF when if comes to extreme corning. Although, I love to side corner in the ISF.

@ISF001, I here u, the car is def gonna out handle the current F and interior is a major upgrade but not nearly enough to sway me. When the F came out in 08 it was kind of behind the M3 and C63 in performance albeit with much better reliability which is why I chose it. I just thought that with the RC-F that Lexus was gonna come out fully swinging and it seems at least for now that it hasn't done so. Will wait to see full comparison but I feel new C63 will be around the same price and will be the $80k monster of the group

The reviews I have been reading are mixed and I am confused now. I have a feeling of disappointment which is sad :-(
