The car comes STANDARD with a ton of Features.

The big concern is the Reliability of this engine esp when pushed hard in hot weather.
Reliability report is out, DCT went down at 400 miles and stranded the guy and his pregnant wife with no help from BMW roadside assistance. I hope it is an isolated case, but I am guessing tradition continue with 1st model year BMW performance models.

except for leather, keyless entry backup camera, both in $3500 and $4000 option packages respectively. Dont see the appeal of a stripped down cloth seat M3/M4 might as well get a C7 Stingray with 2LT + Z51 in that case.

That is shocking. DCT failures are very common, but BMW failed this owner big time.

Base is 65k + 10k in options (Leather, DCT, LEDs etc) = 75k which is pretty good

Nav and ALL CF parts are standard

His story is so absurd, it almost seems like he is lying. But now it seems like the story is real.

If I am him, I would crash that loaner car straight into the service advisor's office

Just got back from test driving the F80 M3 and it's a very impressive car. I think it's the perfect wolf in a sheep's skin if you will. Understated but drives very very well.

First year cars will always have reliability concerns, hence I am not buying one til 2nd model year. The guy's DCT failure is famous now but there was another guy with electronics issues too. Just keep in mind the internet we always hear the bad before the good so you need to take things with an ounce of skepticism.

I'm anxious to go drive the RC-F once it's released, very curious how the cars will compare. But I think Lexus made a big mistake only releasing a 2-door car. It's like you are missing 50% of the market right off the bat.

already had a 4 door F car, the ISF even if it is last gen, new 4 door F is coming anyways. Releasing an RCF at the same time as the rest of the RC line is a bigger deal to show the new model, instead of waiting another 2 years for the an F like the ISF did.

RC-F = RS5, people who want a sedan can get an IS-F, GS-F, RS4, RS6..........etc.

Yeah, but as soon as you have a family to schlep around and a wife to keep happy you understand why a GSF would have been appreciated. 4 doors, 5 seats, and a V8 can't come soon enough.

I love the Porsche 991, but it's very hard to ignore the M4 performance for the price!! Too bad reliability could be an issue. A first year RC-F is probably more reliable than a 4th year M4.
