When you shift into reverse, does the backup camera show majority of your license plate?

^did you even check? Just had the service manager pull up a new Rcf today with a mounted plate and the rear view camera also displayed majority of the plate

Who cares?
The important thing is that the camera is above the rear bumper, and you can see the space between your bumper and the wall or car behind you, shot from above. It is quite easy to back your car up to within an inch of whatever is behind the car, should you want to.
I know what's on my license plate, and its contents or location are not important factors when parking.

Don't need to. I parallel park and I back up parking in my garage. Don't see any part of the plates at all. Just the big lexus onthe bumper applique

Guess everyone will be OCD now while looking at the reverse camera bc of me haha

just thought Lexus could have done a better job and aim more at the road than my plate and bumper

It's not an aiming issue, it's a FOV issue (wide angle lens) that will naturally do this.

I've installed tons of IP security camera systems, they have similar "issues"

Somebody slept through physics class in high school. The short focal length used provides a wide field of view as well as a great depth of field (everything is in focus). Since the lens is round, these things go wide as well as tall, so you can see cars coming from the side, and you can see the bumper and the sky. The good news is that modern lenses and screens give the driver a much more detailed and higher resolution picture, and in less light, than cars with this feature even just a few years ago.
Those who use reverse at night a lot should seriously consider the quickly changed and inexpensive LED back-up lamps (search this forum); it's like having a lighting crew riding in your trunk.

I was just actually thinking about ordering some, do you have them? If so, does it wash out the image at night?
