Default Vinyl Roof Wrap

Has anybody wrapped the roof on their own? And is it possible to cut a slit for the shark and then wrap the shark fin afterwards? Also, do you need to have a heat gun or can you use a blow dryer as an alternative?

Just cut a slit and mold around it

I'll try cutting a spot for the antenna but on IS forum they had to remove the headliner and the dome lights to unscrew the shark fin. I'm not sure if its the same on the RC

I tried to get my buddy to vinyl wrap my roof but he said I either have to do the slit method or take off the entire headliner. We tried to take off the rear dome light but its not screwed from there. Since he was doing it for free I did not want him to waste time taking off the headliner and putting it back to place. Also when I return my car he would have to do it again to peel it off.

Do you have any pictures of the roof wrap with the slit method? I would have a professional do it but there are no real companies here. They are all sign companies that do business car wraps on the side, and I do NOT want any blade marks on the car.

Hmm...I'm having this done this weekend but the shop I deal with is pretty professional. Still now that I read all this, i am going to have to ask them to explain how they are going to do it lol.

Did mine tonight and removed the antenna to wrap it...id suggest the same...barely had to move the headliner to get it out and it went on clean!

Looks good and thanks for sharing. I decided not to do it myself because I know I will screw up, but I think I'm gonna drive down to DFW area to get it done in the summer. Do you plan on wrapping the mirrors?

Yes I do later on. The pieces Already black on the mirrors I wanted to do carbon fiber. The white to the same black as the roof was my plan.
