Default Excellent. ..

I'm keeping this as a favorite because I know this is going to come in handy in the not so distant future. I had my 2006 Toyota Solara until the day after I took delivery on "Ruby," and she had 110K miles with original brakes, with 8 mm still on front and back. I know those days/years are behind me.

Wonder what the difference is between the two? Hopefully similar options for the front in near future too. I think I may need brake jobs as quickly as my husband's Mark VIII (similarly weighted).

Thanks.....can't collect too many of these links...

Thermoquiet (high performance) are the premier brand, stops faster, wear extremely quickly, dusty, can cause squealing upon stopping, and are harder on your rotors.

Quickstop are not for performance cars, lasts longer, easier on the rotors, and less dusty.

Both types require that the new pads be "Bedded" in before normal driving. If you want to know the process just Google "Bedding in brake pads" and add the name of the brake pad used as each type has their own requirements.

Hope that helped.

No problem. Most people who have performance cars and of course these cars have performance brakes are always complaining about squealing brakes when coming to a stop. If you "Bed" in the brake pads to the rotors you will not have those issues, and of course if it develops later you just follow the "bedding" in process and like magic it is gone.

I think I even posted in this forum how to Bed in brakes if you do a "Search" on this forum. If you can't find it or it's not there let me know and I will post it up.

So far the only pads that are available from anyone other than Lexus are for the rear.

Carbotech has fronts for the RC F. You should check and see if they have them for the RC350.

I just did, and no they don't have them for the RC350. What makes it worse is that the RC350 has 13.2" rotors, and the RC350 F-Sport has 14.2" rotors, so who knows when they will even put in the options for the F-Sport.

Any update on this Jay? My brakes are just fine at 6k miles but I'm just curious for the future. I know Stoptech also makes a set for our RC's as well.

hey sorry for my late reply....

for the time being i just went with the OEM brake pads...

Currently the pads available are for the rear only.

just waiting for someone to make for the front.

** as per my knowledge i read some where that our RC front brakes uses a double pad something which is why there is lot more brake dust than compared to the rear which is a single pad ... Which is also why the aftermarket replacements available are for the rear only.

Make sure that if you have the F-Sport package remember your brakes are larger than the stock RC350. RC 350 with F-Sport package the front brakes are 14.2" as compared to the stock RC350 with front rotors of 13.2"

If whatever sight you are using does not include the F-Sport package in a drop down I would call them before ordering just to be sure it will fit.
