Looks sweeteeeeeeeeeet! Why did you choose the oiled vs Pro Dry S filter?

The oiled filter actually flows more than the non-oiled one. The oiled CAI is also much better at filtering out particles.

Here is a link to briefly describe the difference between the two:

You just have to be careful when "oiling it"...lil goes a long way.
Also, when in "no enclosure" filter is installed it's always beter to have oiled filter...collects more fine particles (exactly what Gearhead said in previous post)

Danggg...it's insane man
I was done with install in 30 min and tested the car right after that.
S+ and from second to third gear, right around 4000-6000RPM...IT ROARS AND GROWLS.
Combo of CAI & exhaust is insane.
Also,it might be a placebo now but somehow I feel way more "pull" now!!!
It jumps

Excellent news. No placebo, it's the real deal. Look when you are in 1st and in Sport+, then nail it as the Trac Control light will flicker on the dash.

I'll do extensive tests over the weekend, when I have more time.
I even put a little fly by video.

RSee, now that you've had the CAI on for awhile what do you think?

Absolute power & awesome sound !!!
Combo of exhaust & CAI is match made in heaven.
I just don't have time to set up my camera on dashboard to do a video like you did...or to record "Kenny passing by a camera" for a fly by video.
Maybe one of these weekend I'll do just that.

Excellent news. I'm glad you like it. I'm going to stop by the aFe Power booth at SEMA next week and let them know that many of us on Club Lexus love their CAI.

Hey GearHead car sounds great, is it true that it is possible to gain about 5 hp through the installment of the cold air intake, are you aware of this being tested on a dyno for the RC 350 ?

I've heard people losing a few hp due to the fact the the factory air rate of entry is dialed in to flow with other processes of the engine and you can lose some power down low but gain a few hp up high. But this is dependent on the vehicle, some cars it works and some it does not.

What kind of exhaust system do you have ?

I just chopped out the muffler and it sounds incredible, so i was thinking exactly what you did, a cold air intake and an exhaust modification combo. Looking forward to hearing what your ride sounds like.

Hey PirelliRC, according to aFe Power the CAI that we have should give us about more 13 HP at the wheels. The fact that I can get the Trac Control light to flicker on the instrument panel when nailing the gas pedal in 1st and in Manual mode is telling me that I'm getting way more torque and HP than stock. Before the CAI the car never did that no matter how much I tried.

Right now I have the stock RC exhaust, but that will change when I'm off for 2 weeks at Christmas. I'm going to have the rear mufflers taken off and a new bolt on pipe put on the resonator to the stock tips. This way if I or more import the wife doesn't like the sound all I need to do is unbolt the pipe and put on the stock mufflers with stock tips.

If you already listened to the sound clip of the CAI that I posted that is what my car sounds like with just the CAI. I can only image what it would sound like with the mufflers cut out and the CAI.

GearHead69, have you noticed and increase in fuel economy with the CAI? When I installed one in the RSX I noticed about a 10% increase when I wasn't stepping on it.

Sure do. I used to get 19 MPG combined driving, and now get 22 MPG.
