Hi all. My plates came in and I'm contemplating whether to use a frame on the rear plate or no frame. I have a slim black powder-coated frame to use. Color is ultra white. Thanks!
Some parkings they hand out tickets for no front plates..but then if its worth the fix it ticket go bare.
he is asking about the frame, not the plate itself. I like the look of a plate frame personally, but it is up to each person's preference... I say go for it!
Yes. I always like a nice frame. Until my plate comes in I give the dealer free advertising by keeping their frame with their name on it. Then, it's my frame with the plate. Some states have rules on not having the frame itself (mine does) block off the name of the state, so make sure you're not one of them.
I like frames too. I bought the chrome one from dealer with the word Lexus in black chrome. It matches the theme of the car. Looks good to me.
If all my chrome was blacked out I would get a black or carbon plate frame.
I'm riding frame-less with only the white CA back plate on my Ultra White. I don't really like the idea of free advertising for the dealer too . IMO it looks better frame-less being white on white, but everyone has a preference. Seen a couple carbon fiber license plate frames on Ebay that look pretty clean.....

I have carbon fiber frame on mine. Just make sure they are made from real carbon fiber and not just a vinyl wrapped plastic or metal frame.
