Default DIY Mobile Device Organizer (Quick & Cheap)

I needed a place to put my phones and stuff while driving.
Parts: Rigid Foam Block & Presto Felt with adhesive backing.
Warning: the foam material I used was quite slippery and the felt may not stay adhered in the hot Fla sun here. Consider this a functional prototype, prior to improved materials.
It does waste a bit of space, but I want my devices safe and scratch free.
I will update this post with general measurements asap.

neat idea I guess, but I like to have my phone within view because I use the GPS on it more than the vehicles GPS because the Lexus GPS routing and traffic updates sucks compared to my Garmin GPS app. So I dock my phone.

the company that makes that metal cable (fusechicken.com) is releasing a black one in January so I will be swapping it out, as I think the black will look better.

Mjeds, what kind of mount is that and how did you mount the phone?

Bobine Auto from fusechicken:

the mount is built into the cable.

the cable is a flexible metal conduit with the iPhone or mini/micro usb ends and it is the perfect length from the console to where I have it, snaking it around the cup holders.

it comes with the plastic clips you see (4 of them). and as I stated they will have black in January as well as several other colors.
