Default New RC350, might have a small problem

Hey guys I just leased an RC350 F-Sport and largely everything is going good (getting used to the loss of overall power and low-end torque compared to my 2007 Mustang GT but it is in a whole 'nother league in just about everything else) but I have noticed 1 thing that is kind of worrying me.

I can spin the shifter (8-speed auto) like it's a loosened bottle cap. Is it supposed to be able to rotate that much left and right? I can get it to do over 90 degrees. Or is the part lose and I should have my lexus dealer fix it?

I don't want to take it to the dealer only for them to tell me that's how its supposed to be.

Welcome to the forum! Here's a recent thread on the loose shift ****:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-...-is-loose.html

I am also coming from a mustang (2007 Saleen S281 SC). Where abouts in CA are you located?

Toluca Lake, which is the nicer part of North Hollywood/Burbank (all suburbs of Los Angeles). And thanks for the link going to read it now.

Thank you! And sorry to hear you're having the same headache. Hopefully it's an easy fix. I also see from the other thread that you got the Roija Red interior. What exterior color did you get?

Mine is Obsidian with Roija.

It's definitely not normal and you should have dealer fix it.
Congrats on the car! You got the same color combo as me

**** is probably just not tightened all the way. Just tug on the boot to unsnap it from the **** and twist the **** to tighten it. Then snap the boot back up. Takes 30 seconds.

The **** is wired tied to the boot from underneath. There is no "snapping off ".
All of the RC's are doing this. It's the design. They were to cheap to use a " jam nut " on the shaft for it to bottom out on. I'd say there will be a silent recall on this soon !

It's 100% not wired tied. It just pulls down. I took it apart to wrap my console. I have a thread on it. I will post a video up of how you pull it down on Monday.

Mine has always twisted. I doesn't happen all the time, so it really doesn't bother me.

Here is how you tighten it. Then just pull it back up to snap it back in. If it's loose it needs a few more rotations to get it tight.

So I took it to the dealer and they fixed it in 5 minutes. It doesn't twist anymore.
