I think we should also open up a poll to figure out how many people are having issues with the ventilated seats.
It's not a major feature to you. Everyone is different. For me it's less about it being a major feature and more about paying a premium price for a vehicle that can not even have a "minor" feature like a ventilated seat that works properly.

I've bought sub-$20k american cars that never had a problem. Lexus is supposed to be the most reliable vehicle there is. It doesn't seem so anymore.

Don't try to discount my feelings about paying for something and not getting it. It was my money.

Way to go, Dave. If I ever had to tell one of my hot, hot, hot dates that my crappy car could not blow cold air on her tuchas, you can be sure that would be our last date. Keep us informed of the aftermarket options you install, the modifications to the car you have to make, the total cost in time and money, and don't forget to tally up the extra action you get.

First you'd have to get a hot date.

Not with these crappy ventilated seats it isn't. Any girl will be hot in short order.

Edit: As for the money aspect... I'll pay $2k to have properly functioning seats if I have to ($2k is peanuts). It matters to me. But I feel that I shouldn't have to pay anything for something that I should have had from the get go. The fact that Lexus will not fix their mistake is what bothers me the most.

Dave, you give a valid argument, but what troubleshooting did your dealership do for the ventilated seat problem.

so i was using it the a/c , even in my cold cabin, the fans get hot in the chair and it barely comes out, so. idk kinda sucks. lexus wouldn't do anything about it unless a bunch of people said something. hopefully we all get some new seats.

I end up not going to the dealership as I haven't been able to replicate the problem now. Both seats have been fine, even in hot summer days. At first it's warm on that one spot but then it's fine. Just this sunday, pretty hot day, my buddy didn't feel anything hot at all and it was a 2 hour trip back and forth.

Default Intermittent Nature

I have it, but it's intermittent and has been tough to figure out what conditions make it rear it's ugly head. So far it does not happen when the seats and temperature in the car are cool to warm. However when I get in the car and it's hot you do noticed that upper back section gets excessively hot when you put on the ventilated seats. It's vexing to understand why it only happens sometimes.

Hey All,

I'm the one that did the video showing the band that gets hot on the seat. Since it has been over 110 here lately I've been using the bi-level AC, and have found that the back of the seat is now blowing colder.

What you all have to remember is that there are only fans in the seat, and it only picks up the surrounding air. If you use bi-level at the coldest setting, and have the fan set to a 3 or 4 you can now feel the cold air coming out of the seat.

Give it a try.

I think that's the "mode" setting that blows air out of the floor vents and the dash vents at the same time. If so, adding in the seat coolers would give us tri level ac.
