Unfortunately not quite there yet. The paint seems to be OK to my eyes at least but there are still a couple of things they need to fix it for me. Also there was a little damage to the washer fluid tank and they ordered it. It was supposed to come in this past Monday but it didn't yet. Hopefully this will be all wrapped up next week.

I'm pretty sure the dealer could have seen the difference if it was sub standard.

My RC is infrared, which is the other color made with the silver base coat; it and the blue mica are $600 options - these are not just other colors which anyone can match. I have not needed body shop work yet, but everyone at the dealership, including the service technicians, just roll their eyes when I ask what a body shop would do when faced with working on my car. I would presume that Lexus would not release these cars into the wild without having a way for their own body shops, at least, to deal with this unavoidable situation. (It reminds me of the aluminum Audi A8s, which most body shops could not work on.) My suggestion would be to deal only with the Lexus body shop that your dealership has or uses. Good luck.

PVO,

Do you have your car back yet? It's been about two months. Would love to see the aftermarket paint work.

I got the car back on 6/19. That was a long time. I didn't get a chance to take some pics. Everything seems to look OK to us. Sometimes looking at the car reminds me of the accident. It kind of sucks. There were some scrapes on the front left panel so they fixed that. They replaced the bumper, the L shaped light, the headlight and the washer fluid tank. It took a long time for them to get the parts. I will try to take some pics when I get some time.

Looks good in this photo. Do you know how much was repainted on the side? Did they blend into the door? How does it look in real life up close?

I do not know how much was repainted on the side. The color looks very good up close and we can't really notice the difference. I guess that's all it matters for now. I'm sure it's not the same.

Default Looks Good

Glad you got it bk bro and most importantly that you are ok. It will feel odd driving around in it for a little bit but give it time, it will be like it never happened.
