Each dealership charges different labor hours so it would be best to call yours and ask them.

I was quoted:

$325 for parts and $452 for labor.

For that price I'd rather do it myself, my only hesitation is prying the panel off. I don't want to break anything. Wish there was a video on how to do it.

They just pop right off, both the inner and outer trims. Just one thing to take note are the "hooks" on the inner ends of the inner trims, you just need to push down on each end will prying each end towards the inside of the car. There are no loose clips or anything that can come off. I'll post a picture of the pieces I removed later to give a better idea.

For this kind of trim removal, you would be well advised to get a set of "pry tools" from Amazon. I did that a few years ago and they are great to have around, and only cost a few dollars. Using a screwdriver almost always leaves some marks in the area where you are working. And these are tips I just don't pass along to anybody.

You can also get the tool at Harbor Freight if you have one close by.

As JTMA271 indicated the panels just pop up when you use the plastic trim removal tool under it. Just place the tool every few inches along the panel, and gently pry it up and it will pop up.

As an FYI here is the link to the 4 parts of the manual, download them, print them, and they show you how to take off the sills. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-1st-gen-2015-present/773084-lexus-rc-rcf-2015-illuminated-door-sill-plates-2.html

Cool, thanks guy. Just ordered my sills today. So I'll see how it goes. Kinda wish they made a custom one that says RCF with the F illuminated blue. I'd get those in a heartbeat hehe.

When you do the wiring just be aware of what I posted about the wiring (green wire).

Good luck and you'll enjoy them as it adds a bit more sophistication to the car.

Thanks Gear Head for all the Tips with installing the lighted door sill plates. I pick up a pair off ebay from a lexusd dealer for a great price and installed them. Your tips concerning the wiring saved me a ton of time. I will post some pictures later, it really enhances the entrance of car.

Thanks

Yes, a sign to buy them and put them in yourself. With the money you'll save not having the dealer do it you can buy a Takeda CAI. Two, Two for the price of one.

These are some quick pictures I took after the install. The end results really add a nice touch to the car, with the door projectors and the lighted door sills in the evening.

Yeah it makes sense. I already have the takeda 😈 So it frees up for something I've been wanting to experiment with the car for a while 🙌🏻
