I used a plastic knife, wedge the end of the knife between the footwell light cover and slowly pop the light cover off. Once the cover is off, it is easy to swap the light bulb.

What he said, but instead I used a small plastic interior trim removal piece from Harbor Freight Tools.

I have a small interior trim removal tool also, only I call it a screwdriver.

Me too, but I wanted to make sure I didn't damage anything, again. Let's just say I have personal experience using a small screwdriver as a pry tool, and having it cost me $100 to replace something that was nicked by the screwdriver. I learned my lesson. Use the proper tool for the job.

For prying out those light holders, a plastic pry tool is a good idea.

I used a pry tool to get the covers off, but can't get the bulb out.

I had trouble also as my fingers kept slipping off the bulb. What I used was a rubber exam glove. The kind you see at the doctor's office or can get at the auto parts store. Or just use some carb/brake cleaner on your fingers to get rid of all oil.

Here are some pictures for the people who like to visually see things (like me )

This is the trunk light removed. Lift the black cover off and replace bulb.

The arrow on the right shows where to pry the light off. This is the puddle lights on the doors.

This was tricky for me. Use a small screw driver and lift that inner tab, then lift the gray cover off.

Do you guys have a recommendation for the trunk light? I popped these in
Amazon.com: Zone Tech 10x 194 168 2825 5-smd White High Power SUPER BRIGHT LED Car Lights Bulb: Automotive Amazon.com: Zone Tech 10x 194 168 2825 5-smd White High Power SUPER BRIGHT LED Car Lights Bulb: Automotive

Works well for the door and footwell but the trunk seems to dim/dark with these.

What I found is not all LED bulbs are created equal, and most do not give off the same amount of Lumen or brightness. Try to find ones that state what Lumen they are, and go for the brightest ones. Also note that we are limited as to the number of SMD (LED) that a device has so don't order one that has 20 SMD and expect it to fit. Check the overall length too.

I have a bunch of worthless 194 LED bulbs so hopefully my mistake will help you find the correct bulb.

Those will do perfectly. Excellent choice, and I've dealt with that seller before, stand up person.
