Problem solved, mint location. Grab and go.

That's clearly not "mint," but it does appear to be convenient, although I'm not sure I'd like to impost that much stress on the CD slot. Can you still play a CD with that holder installed? If so, surely "eject" would cause some damage. Still, with all the other audio options available, this holder does appear to be an option for those who need to look at the phone screen while driving, for some reason (no nav system perhaps?).
PS: The ML is about the only option I don't have in my RC - how's it sound? I've had it on my last two cars, but not this one.

It's very secure in there I don't see it causing damage unless you ripped it out or something.

No you can't use CDs but personally I haven't used a disc in as long as I can recall.

It's a convenient location that's easy to revert back to stock and super easy to use / see the phone when needed. Gotta stack my waze points.

The ML blows away the factory audio, I had to go through hoops to get this thing but I was pretty picky for my daily driver since I have to log serious time in here.

Thanks for that info. I see that the company makes this mount for an iPad mini, which might be nicer for Waze than a small phone screen. The location in the RC does appear to be very nice, and I'll consider this, although the free traffic info I get on the NAV system (HD Radio now, instead of Sat Radio) seems to be very good, although Police spottings are not included).
As for the ML, I enjoyed it in my SC and RX, but I lost the hearing in one ear a few years ago with brain tumor surgery, so high end audio is no longer a big concern of mine. Heck, stereo is not a concern of mine, so the standard audio is just fine for me, especially considering the costs of the ML.

I got one of those magnet phone holders and placed it in between the seat warmer buttons.

This looks like a great solution from Belkin, coming soon. A phone holder which slips into the cup holder.

That looks like it would be a great alternative to just putting it in the cup holder.
