Default RC Platform?

I think I read that the RC platform will be somewhere between the GS and IS platform. If so, should the RC ride better than the IS? I've been seriously considering the RC, but after having a '14 IS250 as a loaner car the past couple of days I'm not so sure. The IS ride seems more bumpy and there is more road noise than with my GS.

RC is shorter than the IS, wider, longer hood, so its almost like a different car body wise

It is not shorter than the IS. It is a shortened GS platform so it does not share anything with the IS other than interior components. So yeah, it is a completely different car than the IS.

IS length: 184 inches
RC length: 185 inches

The RC wheel base is around 107 inches so is about 3 inches shorter than the IS wheelbase. This generally indicates a stiffer ride if all the other fadtors are the same. RC will have larger stiffer tires, so it souuld drive like a sports car with a stiff ride compared to the base IS>

IS and GS share the same platform architecture, so technically, IS, RC and GS are all very closely related.

Thanks for all the input. I guess I will just have to test drive it to see how it compares.

In this case, I hope that the new RC will adopt the better features of both GS and IS to make a fantastic car.

RC is based on GS platform, but is reinforced to be stiffer and more rigid.

The RC is a stand-alone model, rather than a two-door derivative of a sedan. Based on the GS platform, the coupe differs in all dimensions from the GS and IS lines.

its wider, shorter wheelbase, and I think the hood is longer. It looks like a totally different car
