Default Need help with printing

To future or anyone else who knows: I went to Kinkos to print out this attached image and it looked like ****.The document was done at 72ppi in RGB mode. Now heres my questions.Should I be doing all the text in Illustrator? Or would a higher document resolution help out, all the text looks pixelated as **** on the print, but in PS it looks fine. Also the pictures on the document were done in 72ppi RGB mode and they were like 7in. by 5in. and I shrunk them way down to fit on the brochure, they looked the worse, whats the deal. The "employee" at Kinkos said I need to bump up my resolution to like 150ppi and switch to CMYK mode before I start my project. So basically I have to start over with everything? Or is there a different route I dont know of to get this thing to print?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

p.s.-the Tahoe was a "request", and will NOT be on the final draft!!!

Well I'll tell you what I do when I print. I convert image to CMYK (this is a must) then make sure my document is 150 dpi. 150 DPI is usually the best resolution for printing and besides that anything over 150 will be discarded by the printer.

As for your text Photoshop is fine to print text with, Illustrator just allows you to resize it to any size without an pixelation later on if you wanted to make it bigger.

As for restarting the prject I dunno about that, I like to do that, but you can try bumping the resolution to 150. You can always convert an image to CMYK whenever you choose though.

Hope this helps

DPI = Dots per Inch (Used in printing indicates exactly what it says)

CMYK = Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (Black)

TO convert Image to CMYK go to
Image - Mode - CMYK Color, you should see a slight change in the colors, nothing totally insane.

Just another quick tip on this subject:
You might wanna design in RGB Mode because you can use more of the filters with that one. If you notice in CMYK a lot of the filters are not highlighted and you cant use them.
Then when your done convert to CMYK like FUTURE stated
