Is300 vs 15 STI
So try not to flame me for this but I was just omw home and a 15 sti with a cat back exhaust flew by me. We wound up at a light. Turned green we both did a rolling start to see who was gonna be the ricer and punch it first. It was me. Instantly hear his turbos spool up and I kept 1.5 -2 cars up untill 70 mph.. I've read that the STI engine Vs standard wrx does take a while to spool up power&torque. Seeing the 0-60 times in the high 5's if your not beating the crap out of it.. so it makes sense to me. I got the jump , he had to wait for his turbos and the race wasn't long enough for him to see his HP win the race. This was just funny Cuz he pulled up next to me at the next light with this surprised face on giving me numerous nods of recognition. We rolled our windows down and I asked him if it was an STI and he said yea.. I said "were you really hitting it?" He laughed and said yea all the way.
I've had some quik cars and I know when someone is really punching their car in a race. Just still surprised me!!
The is300 engine has a completely flat 100% 236lb torque curve from 2,000 RPM straight to 6,000 RPM because it's detuned too. Something I found out recently. Which makes it a very fun car to whip around and feel the completely linear power Vs the is350 where it's actually peaking hp and dropping torque because the engine is performing at its max output because it's not being limited by a tune. Obviously more is better. Just found that interesting.
Burger Motor Sports needs to Crack this ECU like they recently did on the 200t. What great value that would be.. 5 k less and 350 power!
OK ramble over..

Lexus don't play huh? Nice. That's a solid win. As soon as those things get a tune they're out though. That's pretty much how I pulled right off the line. And then kept a solid 1-2 cars.
