Default Best intake for sound

New to the forum and was thinking of buying a CAI or SRI. Not sure if I'm in the minority but I honestly just to improve the growl. Added performance would be a plus, but I'm not holding my breath. Any suggestions? My budget is $270 shipped

I was looking at that as well as but seems a bit pricey for an intake. Anyone have experience with the HPS? https://www.ebay.com/itm/122039989892

The intake will only "amplify" the sound on your intake side, you'll hear your turbo spooling and your bov/bpv might even sound a little louder. if you want a deeper growl you'll have to work on the exhaust side.

HPS won't increase sound, only air flow as it uses the factory sound generator

Check the classifieds for a used one

Gotcha. Thanks for the input!

Also, I don't think exhaust is in the books for me. I feel like it would be too much for the neighbors

You won't regret it, post a video or quick review for others in the future who may have the same question

Greddy. They dont make it for the 3IS only for the 2IS but it fits perfectly because its the same engine and sound amazing I dont regret a second of it. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...ntake-3is.html this is a forum of a user who also tried out this intake.

Takeda Install and Quick Review

Tools
- 8mm socket (hose clamps)
- 10mm socket (bolts)
- Small Phillips head screw driver (sensor screws)
- Flat head screw driver (new sensor screws)

Install
- Took about 35-40 min going somewhat slow
- Started at the bottom removing the stock box and worked my way up
- Added a small hose clamp for the mid section hose (too loose with the stock clip)

Review
- I'm very pleased! It accomplished exactly what I wanted which was more growl during acceleration
- The difference is pretty obvious without having to try hard
- I was lucky to fined it used/shipped for $250 which is about what I wanted to pay
- Although I'm happy overall I couldn't see myself paying $330+

Congrats

Which set-up did you get?

Blue/black or grey/chrome?

It's a dry filter/chrome combo. The previous owner took really good care of it and the filter is still fairly new. I didn't know if the sound difference would be significant but I was pleasantly surprised that I could tell right off the bat
