Default Help identifying exhaust

Hey All,

I just purchased a 2009 IS 350 and I need a little help. The car has an aftermarket exhaust on it but I can not find any markings identifying the brand. Can you guys help me figure out who made this?

Thanks

^Yep, I agree. Either F-sport with the etched logo in the tips or the early HKS models without engraving.

It doesn't have any engraving so it must be an HKS.

I am trying to decide if I want to replace it because it is too loud. I like the sound when I get on it, but it does resonate a lot in the 1.5k-2.5k range which can be annoying in traffic.

How is it too loud for you, I had the same exact exhaust before and sold it because it was too quiet.

Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. I agree that it isn't all that loud when I am on hard on the gas and I do like the tone then. Like I said, it just resonates sometimes lower in the RPM range which is a little annoying.

Since you said you previously owned this exact system, can you tell me which one it is? Is it an HKS, can you tell me which model?

Had this Exhaust , i miss it alot , Its the F-Sport 1st Gen Non Engraving , its all identical and quality built to perfection. I could have added a mid pipe to make it much louder. But unfortunately just that alone was too silent for me.

If you unbolt the exhaust you should see Printed Itched Serial Numbers on the Y Pipes.

I did some more digging and I agree. It looks just like an F-Sport without the engraving.

It also looks like I have an aftermarket mid-pipe on there right? Maybe that is what makes it louder than I expected. Perhaps I should consider going back to a factory mid-pipe but keep the F-Sport cat back.

What you have now is just the F-Sport AXLE back. The rest is straight OEM mid pipe from what im seeing in your photo. Aftermarket mid would look much different because due to it being 2.5 inch piping and stainless steels. Plus it does not have those shields covering the pipes near the headers.

Hate to break it to you but if you want to resolve the drone your hearing then you gotta find the OEM Axle-Back. It's Smooth and Silent and super boring lol. But its a Lexus for ya.

Perhaps check to see if you got an aftermarket header? who knows
