Aventur2, I read that you got it tuned for 30% e85. I am assuming this means you run your car with 30% e85 haha.. Does the car handle that from stock? I was under the impression that our cars had rubber"ish" fuel lines and that e85 would degrade them over time. Did you switch to stainless steel fuel rails or can we use e85 from stock?

I am getting my tune on Friday, and have been considering tuning it for 30% e85, but I won't ALWAYS be able to fill up on e85 (there is no e85 pump in my hometown I go to over break). So could I tune for ethanol, and be fine running solely 91 on a few tanks?

IF** you are tuned for it.... would it hurt to run straight 91 ever?

I'm sure our cars can run pure E85 since they're making a tune for it as we speak. But again you have to be tuned for it, and putting the incorrect fuel on a tuned car can affect the engine in a bad way from what I've heard.

When it comes to E85, you have to be able to flow up to 30% more fuel through the motor. So even if you were "tuned" for it, more than likely you'd lean out in the higher rpms due to lack of fuel delivery. That's why an aftermarket high pressure fuel pump will be necessary...along with the tune of course.

I have a IS250 tuned to 7200 RPM, and my car is now not drivable unfortunately. I am not sure if this is directly related to the tune, or what. The timing chain is slipping once the car fully warms up. It is a god awful sound and the whole car begins to shake. I will begin taking apart the head today and let you know of the findings. Or if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions feel free to let me know!

I'd check out all of the timing chain components first before pulling the head. What happened? Did it just start acting up out of nowhere or was it while in the upper RPM range? Can you get a video of the car acting up?
