Can I Swap an is350 motor into my Is250?

I m from Greece and IS350 is not an option so this swap is ideal but the cost of a good used engine with everything on should be very hight.The wiring is a problem if I want to keep my manual trunny but someone in Australia did it and it seemed to work great.I PMed him but no reply!

hello,
i have an is250 with a 350 swap...
when i originally bought the car it had a 350 engine with a 250 tranny.... later swapped to a 350 tranny.
mounting points on engine are compatible. rear section differ from 250 tranny and 350 tranny. i dod a custom driveshaft (from the two making one) and everything worked well.
good lock on the electrical part.

how can you tell just from a pic if its a 250 or 350 engine? they are pretty much the same looking (without the engine cover)

I just ordered the IS350 engine to go into my IS250 6MT today. I'll likely post a thread once the project actually gets underway.
The stock clutch is not rated for the torque of the 2GR, an F-Sport or SPEC Stage 1 clutch can handle it with a stock disc. I will be attempting to use a 5VZ-FE clutch disc for it's superior torque capacity, but it may not fit, if not I will continue to use the stock/TSB-updated sprung clutch disc.
There are additional fuel lines that will need to be added to the car for the port injection, however the tank pump is the same for both cars.
I will be doing larger brakes as well, however the engine is actually only 2lbs heavier than the 2.5L, most of the other weight is from other components like the transmission, differential and brakes.
Should be fun!

Yes Jeff!Props to you who will atempt this!I hope you ll manage to do this.If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for the engine?What year is your IS because i heard you have to have VDIM in order to make this swap work.Mine doesnt because its 06

I don't know exactly what the engine is going to end up costing yet. My car is a 2011 with VDIM.
Still, most of the VDIM system is separate from the ECM. I couldn't say with 100% certainty, but I would think, in theory, that you could still do the swap. You wouldn't gain VDIM, but I think the engine computer can likely handle it with or without VDIM. Hard to know for sure though.
