Default Engine Air Filter Showdown: K&N, Stock, Aftermarket

I am going to replace my current engine air filter for the first time since purchasing the car a month ago. I am trying to decide what brand of filter to get.
OEM - $25
K&N - $50 (Lifetime)
Aftermarket (Beck Arnley) - $12

I had a K&N air filter on my GS 400 and it seemed to work well. However, I only remember cleaning it out once. I have also heard that K&N air filters let in more air but do not provide great filtering as a consequence.

What are you all running? I am very tempted to go with an aftermarket filter. I will get to use four before they catch the price of one K&N.

When i had my is350, i went with F Sport intake. It came with everything needed including the F sport air filter. Try and see if you can get the F Sport air filter. I used it and it was awesome.

Ultimately, what is your goal with this filter change? Lifetime filter, proven HP increases, etc? What is your budget?

I like the OEM Toyota filter the best for filtering the most dirt, I've used K&N and TRD filters but they don't filter out the dust like OEM.

+1 for the F-sport air filter. I'm using it now and it's really easy to maintain.

+2 on the F-sport. Bought 2 so I could always have one ready if one was due to be cleaned. It's my DD so I don't have the time to wait for it to air dry after soaping it out.

A quick search turned up this.
Recommending amsoil ea filters. Take it for what it is worth.
That person says he isn't paid, but IS an amsoil dealer. You can decide the value of his claims for yourself.

If u want to stick with disposable, I would stick with OEM. If u want reusable get the fsport. Don't forget to buy the cleaner. U should keep ur old filter as a spare though as Fsport takes a while to dry.

Thank you everybody. I went ahead and bought the F Sport for $70 shipped here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331541817486

I will look for the cleaner, but I thought you could just clean it with soap and water?

Do you guys get better MPG with the FSport filter + the FSport intake?

I notice i gain 1 MPG on both my IS250 and IS350 after upgrading FSport intake.

1 MPG gain would be awesome, although I am not expecting any difference over any other clean air filter. My current filter is a bit dirty so hopefully I gain back some power at the least.
