F Sport drop in air filter... or the alike...
Hi,
Couple questions... Picking up a 2015 IS 350 F Sport AWD today.
Are the air filters on 250 and 350 the same? My car although is an F Sport doesn't come with an F Sport filter does it?
Anyone who went to F Sport air filter did they notice a sound difference, increase in throttle response, etc?
Thanks!

none of the cars come w/ the f sport filter. you can order the filter at your parts department. I installed mine a couple of weeks ago and the computer is adjusting well to it. you will see a HUGE difference in construction compared to the stock. as far as sound difference it's difficult for me to tell cause I have a cat back exhaust that covers most of the sound. the car does breath better and I'm slowly getting better gas mileage so that's a plus. either way, your car will breath better and you won't have to buy replacement paper filters anymore.

indeed, i will update as i continue to rack up mileage. but answer short and quick, throttle response seems to better. as far as performance, there may be a little hp added, but not much to where i can feel a difference. i do know for a fact that my mpg has increased a little and will hopefully increase a little more as the computer is still learning. from my house to work, there is A LOT of stop and go and my mpg was about 20.5-21.5 mgp. after the intake install, I'm at around 22-22.5 mpg. I'd say it was a great purchase for that reason alone!
as far as sound, it is what it is. I've had open air/short ram intakes before and i loved the whole darth vader inhale sound, but that wasn't the reason for purchasing it. bought it for performance. i don't think that just changing the filter element will increase sound or make it sound more aggressive, but i could be wrong.
