My 2013 ES 350's sunroof has leaked since it was just a few months old. After 5 failed attempts to fix the leak, Lexus says it's normal and will do nothing more about it!! They say it performs the same as their other vehicles- that's not a good sign! It leaks in the rain, when washing it with a garden hose and when going through an automatic car wash. No one else I know has a car that leaks like this, nor have I until I bought this car. It is ridiculous and for Lexus to say it's normal is even worse. I will NEVER buy another lexus or as we call it a Leaksus!! First and foremost, I wanted the car fixed, but if they couldn't (and they said they couldn't), then I wanted it bought back under the lemon law. However, they refused the lemon law claim and offered no options to resolve the issues with this subpar quality car. We will not drive it on out of town trips in fear that it could rain and the car will get musty smelling or worse yet, mold. So needless to say, I am less than happy with this car and I am unable to use it the same way that I have used every other car that I have owned. Lexus has proven that the pursuit of perfection is a line of bull. They do not stand behind their product, they do not care about customer satisfaction and now I'm stuck in a 4 year lease for a car that can not be used like every other vehicle on the road.
This is the inside of the roof after it was sprayed with a garden hose at home.

- 2013 ES? So the car is already 2 years old. Yet the OP complains they are stuck on a 4 yrs lease, so you should have only 2 years left.
- 2 post wonder, posting on the Performance sub-forum of the 3IS?
- Lexus would have at the very least replaced that sun roof cartridge on warranty one time. If they are washing their hands off of it, then there's bound to be more to the story. If the car had frame damage from an accident, it could explain the leak and why Lexus would tell the OP to beat it.
- If there was a design issue, the ES forum would be jammed with complaints from other owners, and this particular issue seems to be isolated.
The car has never been wrecked and lexus has replaced the seals, etc and it does not fix the problem. The car has leaked since it was just a few months old and Lexus tried to fix it 5 times with no success. Thus, my complaint. I asked that they fix it or buy it back. They have done neither. You are right, I am almost 2 years in to a 4 year lease, but I have 2 more years of this car leaking every time it gets wet. 2 years is a long time when u have an issue like that. We can't take it on weekend trips in fear of it raining and we have 2 more years of hoping the leaky sucker doesn't develop mold.
A couple months ago I went through the car wash with my sunroof cover open (the sunroof was closed but the cover in the car was open). I noticed the sound of rain and looked there was a TON of water coming in to the little ledge above my headliner on the passenger side only. I figured the seal wasn't working right so I opened and closed it afterwards and it seemed to have a good seal buyt the same thing happened the next time I went through the car wash. But I can't find any dampness inside of the car and my headliner is totally dry. So my drains must be working but it still seems odd that it leaks as much as it does. Does anyone know if this is normal? It's a 2009 ES350 (I know I'm in an IS forum but it was recent so I thought I'd start here)...
