thanks
The parallel merge collector is the ideal collector for a race header. We use them on all of our competition headers as well as high-end headers like the ISF.

The formed collector with spike is made to simulate the smooth flow of the parallel merge collector and does a good job.

Here is a good website with information on the difference between the two:
http://www.coneeng.com/results.html

If you are using the car mostly on the street and occasional track use, we recommend the formed collector with spike.

If you are going to race the car or compete professionally, we recommend a parallel merge collector.

THANK YOU so much for the explanation and the link. it would be neat if there was a diagram of how the air moved through each collector too.

one other question...to keep it carb legal, if we bought any of the headers, would we also need to purchase the cats as well?

Hello!!

Here are sound clips of my IS250 F-Sport with custom straight pipes (No cats or resonator, and catless PPE headers, and a Joe-z Intake!!)

Anything else you guys need just let me know! The sound was recorded with my Canon 6D, but I have an external mic I can use. I also plan on switching to the PTS/Joe-z Exhaust because of how good it sounds!!

How is the noise inside the cabin with headers? Is it audibly more than a full catback?
