Default Sport + Manual Mode Redline Shifting

When driving in Manual sport + mode, and you take off in first gear and hit redline - does your car bounce off redline and stay in gear until you manually shift to 2nd??

Or does it automatically shift to 2nd at redline?

I want to say the car will bounce off the redline.
Reason I ask is recently I did ECU flash and think this was part of the change as now it will shift at redline even though it is in manual mode.

It'll shift to second if you don't turn traction off (10 second hold when you're in park)

It depends on the transmission programming you got. Some cars can bounce off the limiter, some can't. On my car, I can have it in sport mode, full traction control off, and it will automatically upshift every time. I have a RWD IS350. Other people with the exact same model of car can bounce off the limiter. At some point there must have been a TCU update.

2014 IS350 F Sport RWD. While in Manual mode, doesn't matter if in ECO/Normal/Sport/Sport+ I turn traction fully off (with the warning light present) and I bounce off the limiter, until I manually shift up.

I got the car last year around June.

I tried this with traction control off and it still auto shifts at redline. So think my ECU flash may have changed this.

Try going back to stock and see how it goes. Hitting the limiter does get scary especially when you're not expecting it (forgetting that you're in manual mode), but it's exhilarating after the fact that you realized it did happen. I had manual cars that I hit the limiter occasionally but it doesn't give the same surprised feeling when you can do it on an automatic/semiautomatic car.

My car will always shift once I'm near redline no matter what mode I'm in. I wish I could bounce off the rev-limiter. I've asked the dealership about this and they say there's nothing they can do in terms of a reflash of the ECU or anything. I call shenanigans.

IS350 F-sport rwd. Sport+ mode: hold traction control button down until you see the orange trac off light appear in the gauge bezel, in addition to the traction off message displayed on the tachometer. You may or may not have to be in park, try both. '

Doesn't have to be in PARK. Just needs to be in a complete stop.

yeah, it doesn't work for everybody. TRUST ME. I've been researching this problem since I got the car almost a year and a half ago.
