Default Serious dilemma.. BMW or Lexus.. get in here and help me decide

So about 14 months ago I got rid of my Full Bolt On's (FMIC, Tuner, BOV, CP, DP, Full exhaust and suspension and some other goodies) 2008 335 Aprrox 450+ at the wheel running 18psi on stock twin turds. It was a great car and I loved it very much but wanted and needed a full size truck. Well im not getting the itch again however as I have always been a long time tuner fan i love the last gen supras. Now before we get too far... the $ for a supra is just not there, so im looking for other options.. here is what I have come up with

Approx 13-15$ for a used 07/08 335i N54 manual 6spd
then drop approx 7-10$ into it for the following

Full coilovers
rims and tires
single turbo swap
FBO options to include exhaust, tuner (already have my old proceed), intake, FMIC, Meth (have a brand new AEM kit in the garage) etc.
keeping the exterior minimal changes as I want it to be a sleeper

end game approx 600+ on pump gas..

or...............................

2002 IS300 w a 2jz-gte / 6spd getrag swap

cost here is roughly 3-5k$ for the car (as long as body is good the motor and trans can be sheit as ill be swapping everything could sell parts to cover cost of the swap too)

and these #'s are rough guess..

then 10-12k$ for
2jz-gte motor(1500$)
upgraded internals (1000$+)
trans (3-4k$ )
associated upgrade driveline parts (approx 2k$)
wheels and tires (1500+$)
coilovers (750+$)
big single turd and exhaust (1500$)
Tune (500$)

I know im leaving out some small stuff. but bottom line is I am and have always been a BMW fan (owned 4 of them), but the idea of having a street-able 550-650hp on pump gas in the IS that will destroy most everything on the road is really what Im leaning to. Plus who doesnt love the 2jz with a big single turd sound!

Anyway let me know your thoughts!

Thanks,
Bruce

I posted this in my old BMW forum if anyone is interested in the BMW guys views( yes im sure you can guess what they are saying)

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...1#post17252485

and I know they both have ups and downs to them just wanted to get some IS guys thoughts here and maybe help me understand a little more what my expectations of a single turd 2jz IS would really do....

Thanks,
Bruce

You don't need a built motor for 650 whp in a 2jz. You also don't need 2k in driveline parts. Maybe a driveshaft, but as long as you get an IS with a LSD, no other mods necessary.

Both are great cars, the 2j has much more potential in the end.

To be honest, if you love BMW's, you are probably going to be disappointed in the quality of the interior of the IS300.

I own and SC300 and a IS300. They're really nice for what they are, but they are not luxury cars by any means. You're already used to owning a luxury car from the late 00s. I don't think you would be that happy in the long run. I had a friend who went from a lowered 07 335i with just basic boltons to a 2010 500hp Evo. He liked the power the car had... but he hated everything else about it and parted the whole car out a year later.
