Default Carbon fiber driveshaft

Hi guys, I just wanted to share some information on an extremely worthwhile modification that recently became available for the RWD ISx50 (and ISF by request):

One piece Carbon fiber drive shaft

WOW! The guys at The Driveshaft Shop in NC custom built this shaft and it's amazing. I've run DSS products on a 2jzgte is300 and was nothing but happy. I knew the DSS would be up to the challenge of building a stout shaft for the is350. This new cf ds is nothing short of perfection!

From a design perspective it's a 3.25 Carbon fiber shaft using a 108mm CV that eliminates the front and rear guibos. The shaft and its custom wound fiber is designed for 1000Hp and a critical speed of over 220MPH. The back has a Solid 1350 joint (same size as a Top HP Drag car) and comes with all hardware.
Its torsional properties are what make it so good! This and the fact that the Guibos and soft hanger are no longer there to make the drivetrain feel soft or soggy, it will have a more athletic feel as well as all he benefits one should expect from such design. The car just feels like it wants to gooooooo now!

These should be on sale any day and only from-

Dude, that thing looks F'N awesome! Give us your impressions after a drive.

Keeping the 2IS after all?

Throw in the OS Giken for some fun while you're at it!

Just what I've been lookin for! What'd that run ya!? I've been searching for one or aluminum for my isf, I have one in my mk3 supra and it was a world of difference. Was all the r&d done by dss or was there anything you had to include (old shaft)?

Def. contact the DSS! I'm not sure msrp has been set yet but these should be for sale any day. I would HIGHLY recommend this mod for a crisp drivetrain feel that's noticeable even pulling out of your driveway.

My car is basically parted out waiting to be traded in. Another forum member is enjoying this driveshaft.

Yes, they used my supplied stock driveshaft and did all the R&D from the shaft and our rear diff/tranny setup. Very detailed process and the end result speaks for itself! The stock shaft is returned after all is said and done.

I have a stock ISF driveshaft I was going to send in before my build became no more. If you need it let me know.

Since the SARD ECU tune won't be available for USDM IS350s, this might be the next best thing for a highly responsive drivetrain.

I just sent an email to DSS to inquire about the MSRP. I might have to put this on my Christmas wish list.

350 and 250 dont share the same driveshaft, correct?

So what youre telling me Mike is which of the following:

1) carbon driveshaft + FRS LSD
2) 350 swap + carbon drive sahft
3) 2jzgte + single turbo

Here's the response to my email. I guess no free installation haha I emailed back asking if the 350 and 250 have the same driveshaft. Two questions, is it the same shaft and is $1400 worth it?

Hi

$1400 is worth it if you like to "drive" your car. If you prefer pillows and drink trays then a cf ds probably isn't for you. Lol

DSS wouldn't have any way of knowing about the is250 shaft unless someone brings one in.

I just offered. We'll see what they say. Couldn't you look up the part numbers and specs to see if they are the same?

What was the difference between the one had custom built and sold and this driveshaft?
