good launchs a 2.0 60ft isn't bad at all. Love to see guys still active with is350. Brings me hope i'm not '''''fully''''' wasting time as it were. I'm curious what was your rim tire combo to get those 1/8 times. Good sh@tt my man impressive with lighter rims and slicks could see 1..8 60ft. If you got 2.0 60ft on street tires and oem rims, your VERY impressive

I bet with lighter rims, MUCH more weight reduction (seat removal is just tip of the iceberg) and DRAG RADIALS/SLICKS you would have seen a 12.5 or under. "''''' its amazing actually just with minor weight reduction and minimal bolt on's these is350's see 12.8s. As far as ''pushing is350's to the limits'' nobodies EVEN got there yet. A 28XX lbs full bolt on stripper with small diameter drag rims on slicks is running 12.5 or well under. 12.8 for a almost stock is350 /save for the seats removed/ is phenomenonal man keep it up. Youve just begun it just depends on what your willing to sacrifice at this point. >>>>>>>> major weight removal can ruin daily driveabilty depending on YOUR preference >>>>>>>>>>>>> full bolt ons for is350 can be 5000§._.._..._._._._._._._._._._. Keep in mind folks every 100lbs takes .1 off your 1/4 time and quick 60ft with slicks make a HUGE difference. So if you take slightly weight reduced is350 with intake and exhaust modded and run 12.8 1/4 . With a 1.9- 2.0 60ft._.._._ but then you Shed 300lbs through use of lighter driver and gutting your car or just heavily weight reducing. And equip yourself with slicks which lets you erk out a consecutive 1.8 60ft . Congrats your now running 12.5 or under with a N/a v6 lexus automatic sedan.- 12.5 is fairly quick especially for a naturally aspiration 3.5 liter v6. I remember when the first porsche gt3 ran a 12.7 1/4 with its 3.5 inline six back in the late 90's and how remarkable i thought it was a naturally aspirated 3.5 liter 6 cylinder could hit 12's,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as far as nowdays though now that the porsche gt3 rs has 500hp from its n/a 6 cylinder lmqo -, you could ''hang'' with a 2015-2016 stock standard new mustang 5.0 V8 coupe and mild modded turbo import /sti , evo/. Obviously if they start majorly modding your toast.

Slicks are unnecessary. Now, if you're running nitrous and cannot hook for ***** off the line, then its time for drag radials. Slicks is a bit much AND can lead to possible half shaft or drivetrain breakage more often that drag radials.

In a perfect world situation with my IS350, I'd like to remove everything from the trunk, rear seats, and remove the passenger front seat. Would have my PPE headers installed with a free-flowing exhaust of my building (custom), plus a 50-shot of juice. Would have to run drag radials; thinking lightweight 15s in the rear with a fat sidewall radial tire air'd down to 10 psi with skinnies up front.

Theoretically speaking, it could be a low 12s 2IS I'd think. All in good time.

Talking

dont need slicks? the is350 is a dig monster. slicks will help.

slicks aren't just for traction issues. There to help the 60ft.

as far a shafts and ''drivetrain'' breaking as you put it

theres plenty of ls1 f-body camaro/firebird running slicks just fine AND they have ''glass'' rears
always breaking.

as far as only taking out the seats. and running headers/exhaust with nitrous???

I don't know. like ACTUALLY don't know how these lexus ECU will read a 50 shot of nitrous.

You can't flash the ecu to run rich.

I think you should do it. See what lexus ecu does

also see if you can do more than just gut the trunk and remove seats. that'll only be good for 150-180 pounds NOT including driver.

with you in car you'll be back at 349X to 35XXlbs with driver NOT MUCH WEIGHT REDUCTION.

for a car trying to get in mid 12's or slightly under skinnies are totally pointless. Guys at track might think your a goof lol. just saying.

id leave skinnies to cars running 10's or under. i mean technically it can help.

i'd do it if i ever got the car gutted down to 28XX-29XX lbs(fully stripped with plexi windows-no airbags-bumper supports removed)

lol its just
it would look bad if your up against say a stock oem rim/ performance tire 2002 corvette z06 with just headers running low 12's

and here comes along a lexus is350 with skinnies up front and rear drag radials with all seats out and you erk out a 12.6 LMAO
but hey to each his own

your one of the few guys running their is350

keep it up brother.

i'm really interested how the nitrous works for you??????

maybe a 75-100 shot with a 250+ fuel pump for added safety?????

anyways heres some info on tires that can be related to is350 for everyone

Dag SLICKS

Drag slicks are racing tires which offer uncompromised traction. As the name implies, slicks have no tread so as to maximize the contact of the tire. Like the D.O.T.-legal slicks, drag slicks feature a soft compound and a soft, two-ply sidewall designed to wrinkle on launch. These tires should never be used on the street. If you were to get caught in the rain or drive through a puddle, they would instantly hydroplane. Also, due to their soft construction, slicks are prone to punctures, and handling is compromised.

Drag RADIALS

Drag Radials are a STREET TIRE that is made with a softer compound. It is intended for slightly better traction than a regular street tire. Drag Radials have street tire-like tread. They feature a soft compound and a slightly softer sidewall. These tires are designed to be used on the street or at the track. They are not intended for slick-like launches, but rather a street tire-like launch with the added grip to help out those 60-foots. The disadvantage to drag radials is the softer launch
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''doesn't lead to 60-foots equivalent of the Drag Slicks''''''''''''''''''''''''''

and it has a stiff sidewall just like a street tire, so wheel hop may occur which can lead to broken drivetrain components.
