Good to hear Rock!

That stinks that boomslang got the harness messed up.. They are reputable, so I would not have guess that/.

Glad its panning out.... hope to hear about a smooth running tune.

For as much as their harnesses cost (I have one for my Neo), I'd have sent them a message as they should either provide you with a new one or refund the money it's costing you to remedy it...

Thanks all! Don't get me wrong Boomslang is still a good outfit. I used a PNP harness from them for my old setup with Apexi Neo and it worked perfect. Something just happened with this one.

At a new shop. Also, I called both AEM and Boomslang today to go over my wiring revisions and they are spot on! Now I just gotta get the damn harness over to the shop where the car's at. Lol. Fingers crossed.

I still don't like to get my hopes up until it's a done deal; have been disappointed too many times to date. I will only be happy when my car is making good power, no stumbling, smooth idle and no CEL's....and sitting back in my garage. Until then I'm not counting on anything. Thanks for following guys. I won't let you down and I WILL deliver!!! 👍

Hey I see you have a wideband installed.. What are your afr's like right now at idle? I'm trying to run 3 psi on stock everything with very slightly bigger injectors.

Would you even need larger injectors at 3psi? I'd assume that the stock injectors and ecu would be able to compensate for such a small increase. As for AFR's at idle, I know on my S14 my wideband (AEM) was somewhat sporadic at idle but perfectly fine once under load.

True, it would prolly throw a rich code. I was just thinking slightly bigger injectors would help keep cylinder temperatures down. like rmm said the stock injectors have a 20%+/- adjustibility. Or so he says. No piggy for me ill be the pig. if I can yield 25-40 crank horse power reliably, ill be happy. Iv never had a boosted car, does having it boosted make it show up sporadic? Or is that an aem wideband problem?

The car pulls like an f'in freight train! Lol. Lots of fun. Haven't updated in a while because I working out some final things. A few good friends have been helping me along the way...you know who you are. Passed NYS emission inspection on the AEM FIC! this is because through tuning myself I got the fuel trims close to zero in closed loop; keeps stock ECU happy! I had a TON of vacuum leaks which I have one area left that I didn't address yet; ALL injectors are leaking vacuum. Lol. Got a gasket, O-ring and seal kit for the injectors. Had a TON of boost leaks that I fixed. Yes, all these things were not checked or addressed by the ****ty install shop. O2's are not in my harness. I think I have to do the famous 2.2k ohm resistor mod for the CAM and Crank sensor wires as I've been getting slight hesitation when the car is cold and got a random misfire code the other day. When warm the car drives like stock during normal driving. Boost kicks in nice and early. Hasn't been professionally tuned yet so I'm not going passed 3-4lbs of boost; I let off after that. AFRS dip into high 11's and have about 3 drug of timing pulled at this point. I'm very close to wrapping this up. Oh, I WILL upload some videos!!!

Big shoutout to my friends that are helping me. One of our old CL buddies came over once to help me out and hopefully he'll make it through in the next few weeks to address the injectors and check components on the TB. Have an OEM TPS on standby should mind be on its way out.

Stay tuned guys and thanks for following! I won't let you down.

The car is running perfect now! No check engine lights, no crazy noises, smooth idle, good fuel trims at proper AFRs (in closed loop) - all on the AEM FIC8! As you can see from the pic of my live scanner all emission monitors are good and ready too - passed NYS emission inspections with this piggyback; something that was always important to me as I didn't want to go standalone and have to remove every year or so for inspection purposes.

History:
Believe it or not I dropped the car off in April of 2013 to get the SC installed. Had tons of issues with the installer not knowing how to install it but later got it right (NOT! see later for more info). At this time we couldn't get the car to run right on the FIC; I thought it was broke; wiring wasn't a thought because I bought a Boomslang harness (they wired it wrong. see later for more info). Took the car home as-is 6 mos later in October; $2200 later.

The car sat in the driveway throughout the winter; I was so discouraged.

In March 2014 I dropped it off at another shop to diagnose the wiring, the FIC and tried to put it on the dyno. They had it for 3 mos; $800 later and no progress. What a waste of time and money; I know they scammed me. They didn't look at *****.

In August I dropped it off at another shop that had great reviews, good shop and he tried working with me. He just couldn't give undivided attention to it (obviously) to figure out what was wrong with it. With that said he looked at it on his free time and had it for about 7 mos; took it back home in March 2015 $400.

From March 2015 to present I have been working on it, researching 'till my eyes fell out of my head, working with friends like Pornaddic and Badblackgs with the occasional call to Jefftsai (thx Jeff). I couldn't have done this without everyone's help! I had to study the OEM wire loom and the Boomslang harness and found out that the harness was wired wrong and left out the CAM and Crank negative output wires to boot! I had to make a few other tweaks through trial and error; got it right. My friend then came over a few times to help me mechanically with things, to check for vacuum leaks and such.

Well, we found that the installer didn't install any O-rings in my injectors, wired my wideband in a half-$ssed way, re-located my PS pump reservoir in s crap area where drain hose was higher than unit (almost blew my PS pump), didn't check for vacuum or boost leaks (there were 7 combined) and a few other issues; ALL addressed and fixed by my friend and I. The car idled fine but would stall when coming to a stop or light; it wasn't my tune. Found out my crank sensor and one of my CAM sensors was bad. Now, after replacing with Denso parts the car would stall instantly in Drive or Reverse. I was at my wits end and was arguing with my wife seemingly daily; she wanted to take a hammer to it. Lol. And then my original OEM radiator cracked; had to get that replaced.

Finally, I was contemplating selling the car but tried one last thing...I tried the 2.2k ohm resistors again on the Crank +/- input signal wires and did the same across the CAM wires. I did this a long time ago and it didn't do anything but I forgot, I did it when my harness was jacked up. Adding the resistors now worked! Night and day, car runs perfect, idles perfect, hits boost perfect. I'm happy, finally. :

A boosted V8 is fun. The torque comes on so crazy. If I mash the gas at 50mph it spins a bit and goes sideways on my 275's! So much fun though. I try not to stay in boost too long because it hasn't been professionally tuned yet. I did a perfect tune in closed loop tuning through datalogging, looking at AFRs and fuel trims but I'll leave the WOT power tuning to a dyno shop. Right now I'm just making sure I have enough fuel to be in the 11 AFR range in boost to be safe.

I'll post up videos when I can. Thanks all! What a journey.
