You actually have 3 resonators. 1 is at the Y where both banks "join" and two in front of your mufflers. I deleted all 3 and to be honest, I could not feel the difference. But I'll tell you what, it sounds wicked! Originally I deleted just the two back ones but it was not loud enough for me. So i had a shop weld in a pipe in place of the "Y" resonator and that did the trick. Perfect. Does not drone at all (with stock mufflers) and when you open her up she snarls nicely.
Again, I could not feel any difference with my butt dyno. If you want to gain some power, go with an X pipe in place of the front resonator, then delete the back two. By the way, Import Tuner did a bunch of mods to the GS400 and they have detailed dyno graphs on what works and what doesn't do much. Just search Google and you'll see it online.

Resonator = a tuned cavity that cancels out specific exhaust sounds/frequencies
Muffler = a series of expansions that take energy from the exhaust gas flow to quiet things down
You're saying it's a muffler so by definition it should have a series of expansions.
The reason this is significant and worth discussion is because resonators typically do not rob power and mufflers do (somewhere in the powerband anyway). That said, if it's truly a muffler, there could be the opportunity for power gains (albeit minimal) somewhere in the power band.
Regardless, I love how removing that "thing" made my car sound, even with OEM mufflers.

You probably have different mods than me, but out of curiosity where did you feel the difference in the powerband?
In all honesty, this car is so much faster than my last car (94 Accord EX) that I have very little opportunity to "test it out" because it gets to felonious speeds WAY too quickly it seems. Merging on the highway or smoking a soccer mom in a Range Rover when a lane merges are my only real chances.
