That won't work as there is limited space between the hole and the filter housing. There can't be any notches that far low on threaded part because it will hit the housing and won't screw in. Kind of hard to explain unless you actually look at the space you have to work with. I'll try to pull up a pic as soon as I can.

Would one of these work any better? Do you need some kind of gasket though?

PM him and ask for the details. He is not afraid to share!
I don't think I'd read about anyone YET actually using these ports; they were factory-created points to mill the oil passages into the castings and then sealed by those allen head "bolts". Can they be modified for other uses, oh sure! But we're still in that stage where there needs to be some trial and error; hopefully more trial and NO error.

That 45 degree angle would'nt work either. Here is a pic of the bungs. You can see how limited the space is around the small bung. I'm really surprised other members haven't tapped into any of these bungs before. I mean... our cars have been out since 06 and 8 years later nobody has experimented with these holes yet? lol

How about you slap some teflon on this and throw it in the small hole? Then find a female NPT to 10 AN for the end.

Two more notes:
I would look for an aluminum pipe nipple (if you can't find one locally mcmaster.com will have them). The oil filter housing is aluminum, most AN fittings are aluminum, you don't want to sandwich a piece of steel in there and risk galvanic corrosion. (Stainless steel won't help, it would be the aluminum that would corrode.)
I would not use -10 fittings. That is going to divert a-lot of oil to the cooler, and I for sure don't know where we are diverting that oil from, or if the pump has the volume to push the oil through the engine and the cooler. Having cooler oil isn't going to help if you are starving the head (or somewhere else) of oil! I would suggest finding someplace in one of the heads to tap in for an oil pressure gauge, then run the engine for a while without the cooler to see what kind of pressure you get. After you have an idea of where the oil pressure should be I would start with -6 fittings on the nipple, and watch the pressure gauge closely.

Good points. This seams to be quite the challenge. I'm getting some PPE headers installed next. I will have the shop read this thread and see what they think while they are down there.
