Default 2006 is250 resonator delete question?

Does anyone know the exhaust pipe size?so i can go get abt 20inches of pipe with the same size to weld it in, I want to delete the resonator and replace in with a str8 pipe to get a lil better sound from it. The exhaust system is completely stock. I just want a lil purr sound nothing to loud. Has anyone done this before? If so, what sound did you get?

Deleting the resonator will make the car really loud.. It won't give you just a purrr and it will also make it very raspy. If you want a nice quiet growl go with a tanabe exhaust or something similar.

Yeah I had it done on my IS250. It was really raspy. I just recently got a custom midpipe so it's much better now.

I had a resonator delete on my IS350 and I notice that it is not significantly louder inside. Infact, you will not notice it much at all. Outside the car, it was louder. I do have a youtube video on it from a rev point. But thats a IS350, it may be different from the IS250.

I had the same experience. I deleted a resonator and even put in a magnaflow instead of straigh pipe, barely noticeable difference with stock muffler. Then I added a Tanabe Medalion axelback to the Magnaflow resonator and that was too loud for my taste. Put back on the stock resonator and the sound is much more to my liking (although I wish there was something in between the stock resonator and a magnaflow resonator).

Do NOT do the resonator delete. I installed a Tanabe axle back and wanted it to be a little bit more aggressive and tried the resonator delete. Total fail! The sound in the car was ridiculous. I ordered the Invidia mid pipes just a week later and never looked back. You will not be pleased with the resonator delete, trust me...........

Did you have any sound clips of the car with the magnaflow resonator. I've been wanting to do this for a while because I want just a little bit more sound from my exhaust. I think mine is a bit too quiet right now

What about using the Megan 3" pipe, would it give you gains and be more quiet than a delete?

Im looking at replacing my resonator with an aftermarket one with a straight thorough resonator but no one seems to have any sound clips. Looks like its gonna be trial and error for me then

this has been helpful. i want to get some megan mid pipes, hoping to get a deeper sound out of my 350.
currently im running headers and my tanabe axle back i feel like its a little too high pitched and raspy on WOT. and too much drone while crusing at 80mph.
havent got much feedback from those with custoim midpipes.
