Default 2007 IS250 Muffler and Smog Questions

Hey so I don't know if this is posted anywhere else but I had some questions on a muffler for my baby! It would be my first muffler so I need a bit of education on them!
1. Which muffler would you recommend?
2. Any links to them or any sound clips?
3. Does the addition of an aftermarket muffler effect Smog testing in California? If so in what ways?

Thank you all! And thanks for making me feel welcome here on the CL forums

Depends how loud of an exhaust note you want. I have a tanabe exhaust and like it but my personal favorite is f-sport exhaust.

You can check youtube for exhaust clips.

An axle back exhaust will not effect smog testing.

As long as you just changing out mufflers and not touching your mid pipe, you are CA SMOG Legal. I have borla mufflers on mines and it sounds awesome. I have a posted link here

Has anyone ever done just magnaflow mufflers and maybe a slightly larger diameter piping just the axle back. I'm just curios because I asked a muffler shop a while ago and they quoted me $150-$200 for the whole thing depending on how much piping will be used.

Go to my build thread in my signature and look at the vids on the two pages. That's greddy se with a custom midpipe. Greddy se by itself is real quiet. And you can find the vid on YouTube easily

If you're looking for little louder than stock, get Tanabe or Greddy (both also look great if you like exhaust hanging low) . Pair any of those with an invidia midpipe and it becomes smog illegal but the sound is much louder. F sport exhaust (hangs high) on the other hand is loud already by itself and is legal. Bad thing is that it's expensive since it's an F sport but will retain it's value. Then you have hks, invidia q300, Joe z
