Default ISx50 intank Fuel Pump - Upgrade Options

Lets discuss in case someone needs to upgrade soon.

I removed my intank fuel unit from my IS350 and replaced it with the IS-F unit. I noted some highlevel differences in my "swap" thread. Figured I'd make a new thread to specifically present the information I have on the stock IS350 fuel pump since I removed it from my car. It would seem an aftermarket pump can be fitted to the stock housing with minimal effort...

IS350 oem intank fuel pump:
Unfortunately, there are NO markings on this pump to research the LPH or sizing...
Overall Length (tip to tip): 4.423"
Length of Pump Body Metal Case: 3"
Pump Body Diameter: 1 1/2"

*Note the tips on same side of the body*

NOT like this-

If one were to consider replacing their FP the most common next step solution is a single Walbro 255 available in a variety of models.

Walbro 255
Model GSS342
Overall Length (tip to tip): 5"
Length of Pump Body Metal Case: 3 1/8"
Pump Body Diameter: 1 1/2"

Operating Pressure: 15-90 PSI - final fuel pressure set by regulator
Flow: 255-270 Liter Per Hour, at 3.0Bar/13.5V
Should support near 500whp

It appears the Walbro 255 will fit the stock IS350 housing with slight modification. You'll need a way to fasten the pump to the housing. If the wiring harness does not plug and play you'll need to join them (I've done this on several cars). The extra 1/2" length will need to be accounted for on the bottom of the housing; likely by removing the plastic that is beneath the pump filter-

Hopefully this helps someone in the near future

Thanks. The Walbro will be my plan B if the ISF unit gives me fits once I get my car back on the road.

^^I'd hope you'd not have any issues running the IS-F motor with the matching pump.

What do turbo IS-F owners do about their fuel delivery? Anything?

I just meant with the gauge reading off or the "miles remaining" something dumb like that. I drove the car about 15miles with the ISF unit installed and all seemed fine though.

They do nothing....Most of the F owners making real power are juiced so they wet shoot; fuel problems solved. lol
If I get extra time toward the end of my build I'll pull the ISF tank again and remove the FP....its huge compared to the ISx50; I'm really curious to know what it is now!
