z32 trans swap
hey guys, I recently traded my built stroker 02 wrx for a buddies is300. I really wanted a comfy, reliable, sexy, rwd 2jz with 4 doors that I could afford on a teen budget. The wrx was my first car that cracked a piston a while back, did a nice stroker build on it, made close to 400/400 but decided to move on(miss it a lot) anyways I really miss the 5 speed and along with the trade my friend gave me a z32 transmission, is300 clutch pedal assembly and a 6 puck clutch for the z32 trans. Collins performance makes an adapter plate and custom flywheel to mate the 2jz to the z32 trans, the bellhousing just needs a bit of machining and the transmission tunnel needs to be hammered out but it does fit. My friend is a welder and will help me make a custom transmission mount, then that just leaves the driveshaft/clutch slave and master to sort out? I have never done a transmission swap like this and am looking to prepare a list of parts that I will need. Also I will be looking for an lsd that will work well but I am having a hard time finding out which differentials will swap easily(NA supra/gs300 LSD's only?)
Over the next month or so I would like to hammer this swap out in a weekend, just want to prepare myself and make sure I have all the parts ready as this is my DD.
Also what will happen to the auto gauge cluster?

What year is the IS??? If its an 01, your speedo will be fine as they are abs based, any other year and something will have to be done for a proper vss, which to be honest I have no idea, as never had to worry about that... I've never even heard of anyone doing that swap so good luck, but I do know you can buy the whole brake and clutch pedal assembly for relatively cheap from junkyards... Also, driveshaft will most likely have to be custom... You can have yours modded or one made, neither easy nor cheap, and you probably won't know the length until you get it in the car unless you can find someone that has done the exact swap and knows... LSD? Sure you don't have one already? Drivers door sticker, look for b01 or a01, one of those will have an a,b or c after it, b01b, for instance... If its an a or b in the fourth spot, its LSD, if its c, its open... Because its a torsen LSD, the whole spin one wheel and watch the other trick does not work....
