i did notice a increase of MPG, but its not much. JoeZ is pretty much a OEM intake, as it utilizes the stock air box. I am actually thinking of getting a FSport Air Box just for the more aggressive sound

Joe Z intake pipe + aftermarket drop-in (read: OEM-sized) filter (K&N, AFE) + F-Sport lower intake box.
easily less expensive than the full-on F-Sport intake system.
Note that you can buy the lower portion of the F-Sport intake box separately, while the top of the F-Sport intake box is the same as the OEM intake box.

if you want something really loud, go with the Takeda, AFE, AEM, K&N, or Injen. I know you mentioned keeping it legal, so I would either go with the F-Sport, or JoeZ pipe and add an aftermarket air filter. I also noticed your username has 626 in it? You can come out to the 626 Friday night meets and ask some members if you can sit in their cars to hear their set-ups. Hope this helps!

I've been using the Takeda for a couple months and no issues at all. The sound is quite loud, very aggressive. If you want loud, go with the Takeda! It's also a lot cheaper than the F-Sport that would give you a lil bit more performance over sound. Choose base on what you want. Takeda also has a dry filter so you don't have to oil it. You can also check out the Greddy's or the AEM intakes. All the short rams will provide similar minimal gains but with great improvement in sound.

If you get an intake, should you get the exhaust as well? A person tried to make the argument that if you get a different hole up front (no pun intended...) you need to fix the air exit (exhaust) otherwise you're not really helping/changing anything.
Thoughts?
