Default [Installed] Injen Short Ram Air Intake

Just installed the Injen air intake last night on my 2014 IS350 F Sport. The intake made for the 2013 IS fits PERFECTLY on the 2014. I noticed huge gains in pickup and horsepower, and it SOUNDS AMAZING. Couldn't be happier, and I'd definitely recommend everyone get an intake. The stock airbox is definitely choking the engine.

WOW that does look like an awesome fit! I like how it dips a little lower than some of the other intakes. Great choice! Only thing lacking is a heat shield IMO. Enjoy!

SP2093P and SP2093BLK = IS250
SP2092P and SP2092BLK = IS350

What do you think the numbers are in terms of the increase in power? I see carid.com claims "up to 19.1 HP and 17 ft.lbs TQ Gain" for the 350 air intake. How about any change in sound? Thinking of leasing an IS350 F Sport soon and would love to add power in these subtle/adjustable ways.

Thanks!

I agree completely. I'm going to have my buddy fab a heat shield for me this weekend

I wouldn't doubt those numbers but it's really hard to say because I haven't had the car dyno'd either before or after.

There was definitely a substantial increase in HP and Torque. It sounds great. The stock intake has a noise amplifier built in which only really kicks in above 3500-4000 RPM. The installed Injen intake, on the other hand, kicks off a great noise even at low RPM, and when I turn the music down I can hear it suck the air in all its glory.

would like to see dynos to back up those manufacturer claims. The 2IS didnt gain this much power off an intake, not sure why the 3IS would

No idea. But to me, it feels and sounds better. I guess that's all that matters, lol.

One thing that worries me is the fact this intake has no heat shields. It looks like it is sucking up the air from the engine bay, which means very hot air as soon the engine reaches regular operation temperatures. I would like to install one of these intakes but make my own heat shield.

Would anybody know if the extra "kick" that the intake gives gets close to what the 2nd Gen IS350 had? I am missing that sweet power "kick" I had on my 2nd gen IS350 before...

I don't think warm air is really an issue. When you remove the stock air box there is an inlet pipe that runs from the front of the car into the area where the exposed filter is sitting therefore I would think during acceleration you would be forcing outside air right to where the filter is. The car definitely sounds louder with the intake during acceleration. Here is my takada setup:
