Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and have a couple questions

I have an 09 IS 350 and have seen people running 0-60 in under 5 seconds. Mine will do it in about 6.1. I've done plenty of research and realize that you have to turn off your TCS and VSC. My questions are: Is my 09 capable of those 0-60 times? Does mine have VSC? If so, how do I turn it off? I think I figured out how to turn off TCS by holding the button for 5 seconds. But it didn't effect my 0-60 time. I know a lot has to do with weather, road conditions, and tires. Can anyone help me achieve a faster 0-60 time? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not sure if the button disables everything or not, in fact I would love it if someone can confirm it does more than disable the TRAC by itself.

I know the petal dance was supposed to disable all the stability systems, you should be able to search and find out how to do it.

You are also doing it in the normal mode or PWR mode?

From what I read the pedal dance was for 06 models and older, the 07 and up are supposed to be different. But I can't confirm this. I'm keeping it in normal mode. Thanks for your reply

Try keeping your foot on the brake pedal and giving the car gas up to 1.5k rpm's. Once you reach 1.5k rpm's, release the brake pedal and put the gas pedal to the floor. Remember to keep VSC and Trac off while doing this!

My guess is tires. How's the elevation over there? What are you using to measure the runs?

It works on all Lexus cars, but yes, you used to be required to do it on the older ones.

I'm getting decent traction, depending on the run I usually have little wheel spin. I'm at 3,500 ft elevation and using a stopwatch to time the runs.

I also had 2 passengers, near full tank of gas, and it was about 95 degrees out. I'm guessing those things would have an effect on my times? Thanks for your replies

its been common that even after turning traction control off on these cars, that the computer takes over and buts its head in. It never actually turns it all off, not even in the newer cars. Plus ABSOLUTELY YES those things would affect time. Usually when they do bench mark test on cars like this 0-60, braking, slalom and what not, its the lightest weight guy, with 5 +/- gallons of gas in the tank, fresh fluids/filter/plugs and under optimal conditions which is low humitdity, 72 degree day.

Also your tires play a huge role in acceleration. If you are getting right grip, tire pressure as well as how heavy the wheels are. Heavy aftermarket wheels usall slow people down

For your condition, 6 seconds is pretty good imo.

Make sure you don't have crap load of stuff in trunk
Brake torque
Get some Michelin PSS
Wait for a good day

I've seen times as low as 4.5
