Wouldn't you get "less" air intake? Air pressure will decrease as it travels up the pipe facing 2 huge turns before before reaching the engine, also travel distance is greatly increased. So wouldnt air pressure be decreased?
Im new to mechanics so someone school me.

Fluid mechanics is rarely that simple. darkstar is getting colder air from the fender area, which may or may not be making up for the pressure differential due to the extra bends.

what v8s did you beat? i cant imagine or even think of a v8 that would loose to a 260 whp v6? maybe the v8 from the 80s pushing 200 hp on a heavy car.
sounds good and dont want to burst ur bubble but its 11 to 12 degrees in intake temps per bhp then times that .8 for wheel hp.

^Lol so Im lying? Trust me there is a bunch of v8 cars that are slower than my car. I have beat a 97 gt mustang, 07 gt mustang, 98 mustang cobra, 06 Audi S4 awd, c5 corvette, and 99 trans am. The 97 gt, 06 s4 and 99 TA, were all my friends personal cars, and they will all admit that my lexus is faster. If you look up the specs and weights on these cars you will see that its very possible for the IS to beat them and it does. I dont lie, I have a 850 hp mustang that I street race, I dont have to make up stories about my slow IS to feel good about myself. lol. But the IS shocked me at how fast it really is.

Good work, and cool that you got some hard data. I'm sure you picked up no more than 5-10whp though. SAE corrected dnyo charts for me for temperature (and other atmospheric conditions, like humidy) from a 54F ambient day (SAE is around 70F ) only showed a 9.9whp difference, so I wouldnt imagine this be much different. But a little more than a JoeZ/FSport and cheaper I'm sure

Definitely would love more DIY info on this. It hardly ever rains in San Diego and the intake won't get submerged so this is a pretty good design for the SoCal area.

On a side note, there was a post about beating mustangs, I beat a modded and tuned stang and a 2012(?) 5.0 stang today from a roll and dig so give your IS more credit than it actually gets..

I don't know about the 2010 GT. Those things are no joke on a straight away. I wouldn't even mess with them. They ate me alive on the drag strip.

I think you're thinking of the 2011 mustang gt because that one has 415? The 2010 has 315. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure~
