I think the real gains lie within the ECU. The day someone or Lexus/Toyota unlocks that door we will all be happier people.

Push that engine more. S/C would be more practical but I would want to put a twin turbo or a single turbo like the Supras (I6 format).

I had the TRD Supercharger on the Tundra I sold to get my IS350, If there was an option to get a kit that offered fully factory warranty I would get it for the Lexus in a second!

TRD charges a ridiculous $1K for swaybars for our cars. Can you imagine how much they'd charge for a supercharger for the 3IS?

My vote would go to a flash tune (did wonders for my Mustang GT), but this will never happen. I'm thinking that the turbo charged 4-banger Lexus will put in the NX, will have more tuning potential than the 3.5 V6.

One realistic upgrade (though not likely to be sold as an F-Sport product) is the upcoming Torsen LSD that will be offered on the RC 350 F-Sport. If it's later determined that the swap can be made, I can see a lot of 3IS F-Sport owners doing this mod (provided that the Torsen LSD doesn't cost an arm and a leg like the IS-F Torsen).

The 12:1 compression ratio is certainly limiting. If I recall correctly, the Integra Type-R also had a high compression ratio, but modders were installing thicker head gaskets to lower the compression for boosted applications.

Personally, I'd love to see a turbo setup for the IS. A 3.5L V6 would spool a decent sized turbo pretty quickly, and running 6-8 psi of boost would definitely change the car. A lot of people forget how boost doesn't necessarily need to add a ton of power in order to significantly change the character of a car. Could you imagine the IS 350 with 360 - 375 horsepower? The Infinity Q50 hybrid has 360 horsepower, and on paper it isn't faster, but when you mash the gas it puts you in your seat (to say the least) a lot quicker than the IS does. At least, that's what my butt dyno told me when I drove them back to back (still bought the Lexus obviously). A 375 hp IS 350 would really be an amazing performer- the chassis can certainly take it.

Mods I'd love to see:

+ Intercooled turbo setup with engine management.
+ Full intake
+ Turbo-back exhaust

I love the IS, don't get my wrong, but any opportunity to build a bit more power that exists or could be developed? I'm all over that.
