There was a Lexus HKS that was made before the F-Sport accessory line became official (Lexus Dual Sport Exhaust by HKS). It was a dealer accessory, and apparently it had the same type of tone, but the F-Sport was louder.

Btw - found the thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...s-exhaust.html

I have the lexus HKS Jon,

The difference is in the muffler... the Lexus HKS has more baffling in the muffler. They are physically the same on the outside.

Check out this thread:

The Lexus HKS is one of the quietest exhausts out there

The HKS Hi Power is one of the loudest

Jon, the Hi-Power is louder than the Lexus HKS. Lexus HKS has a tuned resonator in the muffler I think, so it decreases the sound and drone, but it's pretty deep.

I don't want to start a new thread, so I'll ask here. I have the F-sport exhaust and love it. I don't experience drone i would call it a hum thats not annoying until you cruise 75+mph. But i love the sound at idle and flooring it(3kRPM-5kRPM)

those that have a the F-sport exhaust:
If I do a resonator delete is the drone level and loudness the same? I know it'll be really raspy but id rather have it raspy at WOT then drone on every RPM range.

No, they will both increase ... I'm not sure by how much though

To me, it's a deadly drone. I guess it's because I like to go fairly fast, 80+ mph all the time, so it's annoying. I really appreciate the sound at idle and when I'm flooring it as well. I live in a place where every block is a hill, so I sounded like a dumb *** when I'm being so loud yet so slow at that drone RPM range.

Resonators are basically the reason why exhausts don't drone. To my knowledge, the F-Sport exhaust has a resonator in one of the mufflers and the other one is a dummy, that's why I refer your hum as a drone.

Compare the F-Sport to another exhaust, ie. Lexus HKS, it'll be drastically more quiet in the cabin because it has 2 resonators instead of just 1 in the F-Sport.

Removing the resonator will be louder and you will experience more drone.

The Lexus HKS looks way better! You're not a kid Jon, let that Hi Powwr GO!! Ever heard my car? Nope.....cause the tips are just for looks and I don't want to be noticed for the sound.
