Default HELP, Which Intake To Buy? Clueless girlfriend.

I am clueless about cars. I plan on buying a cold air intake for my boyfriend's car. Problem is, I don't know which to get?

I'm debating on the Injen Cold Air Intake, K&N Cold Air Intake, and the F-Sport Performance Air Intake. I don't really care about pricing just as long as it sounds nice.

His car is the 2012 Lexus IS350 F-Sport Package.

Seems like he would reside in California, if your bf is worried about carb, F-Sport is the way to go. Injen and K&N are more for sound. Performance wise, they're all the same.

I have the JoeZ intake tube and Blitz drop in filter, the only difference between the F-Sport and my setup is the filter lower box that has an extra cutout.

Since he has the F-Sport package, you might as well complete the package with the F-Sport intake.

Get F-Sport intake if you want your BF's car to sound like this. I live in California too, so won't be breaking any emission laws with this setup.

Yeah, being in Cali with the emission crap...to be on the safe side, you might want to stick with the F-sport intake for the carb sticker.

Yea get the F-Sport Intake. It's pricey but the only intake other than the stock one that is technically legal. Too bad California is so **** about cars :/

Edit* Wait, F-Sport ISX50's don't come with the intake??

F-Sport Package differs from the F-Sport Accessories. There is an F-Sport Friday video that makes the explanation.

OP: I have the F-Sport intake and love it. If your boyfriend is as meticulous as I think he is (hell almost all of us on here are) I would say he's planing on picking that up with/or without the gift (provided he doesn't already have it)

Hope that helps.

Not standard but some do as a dealer add-on(?). So you have to check.

OP make sure you don't see a aluminum tube under the hood. And let us know how it turns out!

to save the most you can get any of the other intakes and go to the LEXUS DEALER and buy the CARB legal sticker from them.

Just a heads up, there are no cold air intakes for our cars, only the short ram variety..

Since your not worried about price, the loudest intake would be the K&N followed closely by the Takeda.

If your concerned about the smog checks and everything, then I would suggest going Fsport. Or you can get any intake and slap on that carb sticker.

To the OP, I would personally ask him which one he would prefer to have. I know if my gf was going to buy me something for my car, I would want her to ask me. Just because we can be so particular on what we want for our cars.

F-Sport or the JoeZ would be a safe bet though.
