My auction site intake experience.

My auction site intake experience.
Ordered an intake from ebay to see if its worth it to save some off of the more well known names in the industry. I have accounts with vendor such as AEM, GReddy, HKS, APEXi, K&N, etc....wanted to give this kit a shot.
Well package arrived very well packed and no damage at all. Instructions were supplied as well that showed what was needed to be done pretty clearly.
Overall fitment of the intake kit is real good...I would say 95%. One bolt on the base was kind of tight but it was a real easy fix. Only other small issue was the coupler supplied is abit too large for the 3in intake pipe itself. I ended up using a old GReddy 3in coupler I cut down to use as a sleeve inside the supplied coupler with kit and no problem. I think the ideal size is probably 3in to 2.75in for the coupler used the throttle body connection. This kit supplies a nice powdercoated black barrier that if you took time to put some heat backing material on it would serve very well. The kit supplies with two rubber molding pieces to act as a seal somewhat underneath the hood. I plan on going back in later and adding the heat barrier to serve its purpose. Only change I will make is getting a better quality filter such as a K&N that I trust more.
Hopefully I will see some increase in MPG's with this, but the sound does sound good at WOT.
Going on next will be the M2 exhaust.

i payed 38$ for mine. Since the gains are minimal for any intake i dont see the point of spending alot of money. it sounds good and adds a little shine under the hood for less than 40 bones

I scored a used K&N (just one scratch on the tube) for $68 a little over a year ago. There are deals online, you just have to know what you want and be patient. The K&N retails for around $320....
